All members present. iiayor Coulter opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag. The minutes of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman "oeser the minutes be approved as read. Motion carried., no negative votes. S T I? E ET ' IGIITS The Crunci ;. instructed the C _er% to call 1 Bill Curry from NSP and have him proceed to install the four proposed street lights as submitted by NSP on December 1 1965; and approved by the Planning Commission and Village Council in the form of a motion. `_Ir1I ZTENANCE Cbuncilman Tessness reported that he is chocking on warning lights for open trenches. Two proposals were submitted for a , iaintenance Building; one from Harold Kerber and the other 3looinberg Co. S E?�A layor Coulter related to the Council that he has contacted several farms to get prices on Chlorine. These prices will be coming by mail soon. WATE Councilman Tessness reported that the water tower is going to be filled tomorrow February 11, 1966. The Clerk is instructed,to invest y`.4,000.00 from the crater fund for 90 days, in treasury notes. Councilman Tessness and Holmberg presented their water budget for the year 1966. It was suggested that 10¢ per bill be charged if bills are to be paid to a collection agency other than direct to the Village Clerk. Tessness had desired to have the minutes but they were not avai?..able. AiJ?IEXATION Councilman Tessness stated that the next meeting to be hold between the Village and the Twsp is scheduled. for February 22nd. At that tine the Council and. the Town Board. Officials are all to be present. The IT scheduled. for Ear ch 1st has been postponed. until a later date. The Council then held a lengthy discussion on the proposed annex. Each Council• man then expressed his views on th&s annex: :oeser - -3/4 of the Twsp, Holmberg - -just the East Half, Coulter - -3/L4 of the Twsp, Pauly- -just the 'past Ialf, Tessness - -3/L4 of the Twsp. It was then agreed upon that the Village would go the meeting on Feb. 22nd and stand firm on talr.ing 3/ of the Twsp. (continued) kS BUILT 3 AP The Clerk read a lottor from Engr. T. The Council authorizes '1'. Flateoo to prepare said inap. JUSTICE CF THE PEACE Elroy Williams- Justice of the Peace was present. He gave a report on Village matters. It was decided that the Police Officer obtain sample tickets for small violations. This would enable all small violations to be paid directly to the Village without having coutt. Police office is to present these tickets to the Police Committee. ASSESSOR The Assessors salary is to be set at this meeting. On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and. seconded by Councilman �:oeser that Tr. 1:!.ay Dietz's (Village Assessor) salary be set at $200.00 for the year 1966. i4ayor coulter voted No Councilman Rolmberg and Pauly declined to vote, Councilman Loeser and Tessness voted. yes. _lotion not carried. Z: a motion ►Wade by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman Holm- berg that the setting-of the assessors salary be tabled until the Feb. 24th meeting. _ otion carried, no negative votes. FIRE CONTY..ACT On a notion r. by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman Holmberg the the Fire Contract with the 3xcelsior Fire Dept. for the sum of ;563.00 be approved. •-otion carried., no negative votes. ST -01KI_ SEWER Preliminary estimates on installation of a Storm -ewer was suggested by the Council. LI3U0.' LICEXSES On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman ,:_oeser that the setting of the .Liquor License for 1966 be tabled until the February 24th Council _'eeting. = ' carried, no negative votes. The Council approves payment of all balls due except `uss L,arsons bill. This bill is tabled. until a later date. 1.r. .uss Larson is to be present at the Special eeting February l7th at. 10 :00 i'. The Clerk is instructed to keep taack of all bills relating to the annexation of the Twsp. The Council specifies that no bills will be paid unless t'ne,0- are proper signatures and purchase orders made out.
