1966 07 14MINUTES OF THE _JULY 14 1966 VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING 9T The Chanhassen Village Council met in regular meeting July 14, 1966 at 8:00 PM at the Village Hall. All members present. The meeting was opened with the pledge to the flag. The minutes of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Councilman Pauly and seconded by Councilman Tessness the minutes be approved as read. Motion carried, no negative votes. SEWAGE REPORT: The Council would like to have the sewage lines flushed as soon as possible. PLANNERS REPORT: Councilman Tessness reported that the planners are working on a revision of Ordinance #33 (Building codes). Tessness reported that a planning Commission meeting probably would be scheduled for next - 'Tuesday, July 26, 1966, HEALTH: The Council decided that a re- inspection from the Health Officer was necess- ary. Mayor Coulter informed the Council that he would make the necessary preparations with the Health Inspector. FIRE CONTRACT: Fire Chief Thompson and Secretary Lambert, and Fire Marshall McAllister were present. A discussion was held on a contract between the Village and the Fire Department for contract services. Councilman Tessness moves that we accept the contract of the Chanhassen Fire Department for a period of 5 years for the sum of $1800.00 payable on or before July 1st of each year. Councilman Pauly seconds the motion. Motion carried, no negative votes. ARICHITECT MUNICIIPAL BUILDING Councilman Tessness moves that we consider hireing an architect tonight to draw up plans for a proposed Municipal Building, Councilman Reeser seconds that motion. Mayor Coulter stated that he would contact an architect and have him get in contact with Councilman Tessness. Motion carried, no negative votes. MAINTENANCES Councilman Tessness is to make arrangements to get several interested partie together at a meeting to discuss a proposed road. RPOINTMENT OF A COUNCILMAN At this meeting a Councilman will be appointed to fill the unexpired term of Richard Holmberg, Mayor Coulter presented the name of Bobby Phillips at the August 11th Council meeting and his presentation still stands. Councilman Pauly presented the name of Clyde Heh1. On a motion made by Councilman Pauly and seconded by Councilman Reeser that Mr. Clyde Hehl be appointed to fill the unexpired term of Richard Holmberg. Motion carried, one negative vote. BILLS On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman Pauly all bills due be paid, except those circled which should be held. Motion carried, no negative votes. On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman Roeser the meeting be adjourned. Time 11 :15 P.M. Ka ing = hut. Village Clerk
