The Chanhassen Village Council met in regular meeting on July 28, 1966 at
8:00 P.M. All,members present except Councilman Pauly,
Mayor Coulter opened the meeting with the Pledge to the flag. The minutes
of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Councilman Hehl, and
seconded by Councilman Tessness the minutes be approved as read. Motion
carried, no negative votes. (Minutes of the July 14, and 21 meeting)
Astistant Deputy Assessor Loren Noeldner and Village assessor Ray Dietz
were present. Loren gave a report on the different property's the Council
asked their opinion on.
#1 Pauly Office Bldg. -- -not over assessed. The Council asked him to
check over Pauly Liquor store.-
#2 Bill Stodola --- Both houses aee included on the appraisal card.
#3 Willar Pauly & # Bernard Schneider -- -Both houses are comparatively
the same on the appraisal cards. Schneider - -no fire places, Pauly
has a fire place, Pauly -- dormers, Schneider gables.
#5 Leon Powers -- -House shows wear. It could use a little Maint. It is
not over assessed. The valuation on the garage has been dropped
some this year. The Building still has value.
#6 Last 80 acres annexed - -- Kerber property is on the assessment rolls
of the Village.
#7 Chanhassen Feed and Implement - - -Why is it less than Victoria?

The Council stated because of the pending anneuation the Council has not
appointed an assessor for the 1967 and 1968 term. This will be done either
sometime in November or early December.
On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Councilman Hehl that
the Village accept the report given by deputy County Noeldner.
Motion carried, no negative votes.
NOTE* It was noted that after 20 days after the re- evaluation meeting their
cannot be any changes made on appraisals made by the Assessor.
MAINTENANCE
Mr. Gene Ha11 was present stating he thinks the road construction people
are making too deep a cut in the road past his home know as west drive.
The Council stated they would check it out.
A discussion was held on the finishing of Saint John's Street. Mr. Robert
Scholer was sent a letter asking him to attend this meeting. He i not
Presents On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Councilman
Hehl that any action the Maintenance Committee thinks necessary be taken
to bring Saint John's Street to a successful conclusion. Motion carried,
no negative votes.

A discussion was held on the road known as Lake Street. (Particularly
the portion abutting the Colonial Shopping Center) The Council
would like to see the Colonial Shopping Center connect to the Village
Water,System so this road will not be torn up again.
MUNICIPAL BUILDING
After much discussion Councilman Roeser introduced the following
resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION DETERMINING NECESSITY OF ISSUING BONDS AND CALLING
AN ELECTION THEREON.,ELECTION DATE TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 16 1966
FROM 12:00 P.M. to 8 :00 P.M. POLLING PLACE TO BE AT THE VILLAGE
HALL IN THE VILLAGE OF CHANHASSEN. Motion seconded by Councilman
Hebl. Motion carried, no negative votes. (details to be found
in Minutes and Resolutions Municipal Building File Exhibit A)
The Council instructed the Clerk to order 200 Official Ballots and
300 sample Ballots, The judges,are to be Viola Buschkewsky,
Marietta Littfin and Clerk Kay Klingelhutz.
FINJ$ANCIAL REPORT - -WATER FUND
Councilman Tessness gave a financial report on the water system,
On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Councilman Hehl
the Sewer Fund borrow the Water Fund $2,000.00 Amount to be paid by
check. Motion.carried, no negative votes.

The Village would like to obtain the final plat plan from Chanhassen
Estates as soon as possible.
On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman
Roeser the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried, no negative Votes.
