1966 10 13f_5 MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 13th VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING The Chanhassen Village Council met in regular meeting on October 13th at 7 :45 P.M. The following members present: Mayor Coulter, Councilman Roeser Hehl and Tessness, Councilman Pauly absent. Mayor Coulter opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag. The minutes of the last meetings were read and on a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman Roeser the minutes stand approved as read. Motion carried, no dissenting votes. The mill levy next year will be approximately 50 mills, a five mill in- crease over last year. The five mills is,for the Municipal Building. Councilman Tessness related to the Council that he has had a request from Mr. James Thompson asking the Village Council to repair his sidewalk which was broken up eight years ago when the sewer was put in. A discussioi was held. It is the opinion of the Council that this request be denied. The Clerk is instructed to write a letter to Mr. Thompson stating the Council did not allow your request for reimbursement of your sidewalk, be- they felt it should have been repaired witnin a reasonable length of time after the project was completed. MAINTENANCE: Councilman Tessness reported that he has talked to Allied Blacktop and they will come in a pick up the excess buckshot on the roads in Scholer's 2nd addition when they are in town repairing the roads caused by the Telephone Co. when they buried the cable. They will use a vacuum type machine to pick up the buck shot so as not to cause so much dust. There is many chuck holes in the Sunrise Hills road, but the maintenance Committee feels they want to have it repaired after all project work is completed. The Village truck needs some repair work done, it needs a fish plate, the estimated cost is $125.00. The Council approves that this work be done. A new snow plow is also a real necessity. The one we presently have is not sufficient. The Council gives authorization to the maintenance Committee to obtain prices on a different one and report back to the Council. BROSE -LAND FOR MUNICIPAL _BUILDING: Village Attorney Russ Larson informed the Councilthat Mr. Brose would not be present at this meeting. Larson stated that he has talked to Brose's Attorney and the Broses are still un- dicided as to whether they will accept the offer made by the Village for $2 per acre for the Village Municipal Building. The Village Council authorizes the clerk to send a letter to the Broses stating that if they could not reach a decision on our offer by October 20th, 1966 we will with- draw our offer and proceed to acquire the property. Copies to be sent to Wally Odell- Attorney for Broses and Russ Larson. PLANNING COMMISSION On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Councilman Hehl that we accept the Planning Commission recommendations amending Ordinance #32 as follows: The last sentence of Section 4 be deleted and replacing section 10. This amendment to the Ordinance #66. Published October 20th, 1966. Motion carried, no dissenting votes. On a motion made by Councilman Hehl and seconded by Councilman Roeser that we adopt the Planning Commission recommendations on PROCEDURE OF BUILDING PERMITS AND FEES as per changes. notion carried, no dissenting votes. ORDINANCE NO. 28: On a motion made by Councilman Hehl and seconded by Councilman Roeser that Ordinance #28 Section 4 residential connection charge be amended, changing from $200.00 to $250.00 per connection. Effective November 1. 1966. This amendment to be Ordinance #65. Motion carried no dissenting votes. The Council approves all bills due be paid. The Council appoints the same three election judges that served at the primary election, they are: Grace Lambert, Loretta Kelm and Viola Buschkowsky.
