MINUTES OF THE JANUARY 12th VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING
The C hanhassen.Village Council met in' regular meeting on January 12th,
1967. at 7 :30 P.M, at the Village Hall,
The following members present: Mayor Coulter Councilman Erickson, Roeser
Tessness and Hehl, Absent -none.
The two elected Councilman (Erickson and Hehl were sworn in by the Village
Clerk.
Mayor Coulter opened the meeting with the Pledge to the flag. The minutes
of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Councilman Roeser
and seconded by Councilman Tessness the minutes stand approved as read.
Motion carried, no negative votes.
On a motion made by Councilman Erickson and seconded by Councilman Roeser
that Hoffman and Hoffman as per estimate_rprepare for the Village a com-
plete year end audit. Motion carried no neg. votes.
On a motion made by Councilman Hehl and seconded by Councilman Erickson
that a separate account be opened naming it.Utility Fund for Sewer and
Water Operating Funds and all sinking funds, Motion carried no neg votes,
Clerk is instructed to order check book tomorrow, r
RECREATION REPORT:
It is and will be the policy of the recreation committee that no private
skating rinks will be made from Village Water unless its metered and paid
for.
SEWAGE REPORT The operators school will be held in May, the Committee
wishes that someone be sent,
MAINTENANCE REPORT The Committee would like to make-a request to the
residents of the Village that when a snow fall accumalating to 1j or
, more accurs all cars be removed from the streets during snow plowing
and removal.
STREET LIGHTS: A letter was read by the Mayor from Hansen and Klingelhutz
requesting street lights in Highland Park Addition, The Clerk is in-
structed to contact Northern States Power for a location of these lights.
FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Building Committee from the Fire Department were re-
quested to be present. A discussion was held on the - Plumbing and Heat-
ing for the Municipal Building, The Building Committee suggested a few
changes in the Plumbing. Councilman Tessness is to inform the Architect

On a motion made by Councilman Hehl and seconded by Councilman.Roeser that
the Village sign a mutual aid agreement with all the Fire Departments in
Carver County, Mayor Coulter is authorized to sign in behalf of the
Village. Motion carried, no.neg, Votes.
ORDINANCE #67 The Clerk is instructed to publish Ordinance #67 - Re-
zoning of lands from residential to Commercial.
CLERK: On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman
Roeser that the Council reappoint Kay Klingelhutz for Clerk..treasurer for
$900,00 per year for the year 1967. Motion carried no neg, votes,
ACTING MAYOR: On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Council-
man Hehl that Adolph Tessness be re- appointed acting Mayor for the year
1967, Motion carried, no neg votes,

SALARIES A motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by.Councilman
Erickson that the Councilmans salaries be $10.00 per month and the
Mayors salary be $15.00 per month. Motion carried no neg. votes.
LEGAL PAPER: On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Council -
man Rohl that the Minnetonka Herald in Excelsior be appointed the Official
paper of the Village. Motion carried no neg votes.
SANK On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman
Erickson that the State Bank of Chanhassen be appointed the Official
Bank. Motion carried no neg votes. It is noted at this time that
Eugene Coulter has stock and is being considered to become a director
is said bank.
INSURANCE,I On a motion made by Councilman Hehl and seconded by Council-
man Tessness that Schneider,Insurance Co be the Official Insurance Co. for
the Village. Motion carried no neg votes.
RULES OF ORDER: On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by
Councilman Erickson that Roberts Rules of Order be adopted. Motion carried
no neg votes,
MEETING NIGHTS: On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by
Councilman Hehl that the Council meetingsnights be every second and fourth
Monday of the month. Motion carried no neg votes.
ATTORNEY: On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Councilman
Hehl that Russ Larson be appointed Village Attorney for 1967 Motion carried
no neg. votes.
BUILDING INSPECTOR: On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and secondi�d
by Councilman Erickson that J. W. Huber be re- appointed Building Inspector
for the year of 1967 Motion carried no neg votes.
PLUMBING INSPECTOR: On a motion made by Councilman Erickson and seconded
by Councilman Roeser that Hubert Forcier be re- appointed Plumbing Inspect=
or for the year of 1967 Motion carried no neg votes.
FIRE MARSHALL AND CIVIL DEFENSE: On a motion made by Councilman Tessness
and seconded by Councilman Hehl that Earl McAllister be re- appointed Fire
Marshall and Civil Defense Head for the year of 1967 Motion carried no
neg votes.
PLANNING COMMISSION: On a motion made by Councilman Hehl and seconded by
Councilman Roeser that the Planning Commission that served in 1966 be
re- appointed for 1967 Motion carried no neg votes.
COUNCIL COMMITTEES: to be the same as last,year.
ENGINEER: On a motion made by Councilman Tessness,and seconded by Councilman
Hehl that T. Flatebo Engr Inc. be re- appointed Village Engineer for the
year of 1967 Motion carried no neg votes.
VILLAGE HEALTH OFFICER On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded
by Councilman Erickson that Dr: Co R. Heinzerling be MG appointed the
Village Health Officer for the year of 1967. Motion carried no,neg. votes.
It is noted at this time that Gene Coulter has stock in the D X Station.
On a motion made by Councilman Roeser Ahd seconded by,Councilman Erickson
the meeting be adjourned.
