1967 06 01MINUTES OF THE JUNE L, 3. SPECIAL VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING
The Chanhassen Village Council met in regular meeting on June 1. 1 967 at
8 :00 P.M, at the Village Hall. The following members were present:
Mayor Coulter, Councilman Roeser, Erickson, and Tessness. Councilman
Hehl absent. Town Board members present: Dick Lyman, Al Klingelhutz and
Dick Bastian.
On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by Councilman Erick-
son that we dispense with all formalities. Motion carried., no neg. Votes.
DUST TREATMENT ORDINANCE: A discussion was held on tust treatment for
streets. An ordinance prepared by the Attorney was read. On a motion
made by Councilman Erickson and seconded by Councilman Tessness to adopt
the Ordinance relating to Dust Treatment and to be known as Ordinance #1 -J
Roll call votes: Mayor Coulter - aye; Councilmen Roeser -aye; Erickson -aye
Tessness -aye; Dick Lyman -aye; and Al Klingelhutz -aye. Motion declared
carried. No dissenting totes. This Ordinance to be published in the
Minnetonka Herald and the Weekly Valley Herald.
STREET OILING: On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by
Councilman Roeser to take bids for Street Oiling on June 19, 1967. Motion
carried, no negative votes.
ST. JOHNIS STREET On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded. by
Councilman Roeser authorizing Attorney Larson to negotiate finklizing the
completion of Saint John's Street. Motion carried, no neg votes.
On a motion made by Councilman Erickson and seconded by Councilman Roeser
to take bids on completion of Saint Johnts Street on June 19, 1967. Motion
carried, no negative votes.
LI�?UOR ORDINANCE Attorney Larson was insturcted to prepare a Liquor Ord-
inance and to have it ready to present to the Council as soon as possible.
RURAL AREA ORDINANCE A discussion was held on Urban -Rural tax Clarificatic
Attorney Larson to work on preparing such Ordinance.
WESTERN HILLS: Tom Klingelhutz appeared before the Council desiring approva
for the lst addition of Western Hills. A discussion was held on the Sewer,
Water, Street and Storm Sewer. On a motion made by Councilman Erickson
and seconded by Councilman Roeser that the Village Council approve prelimin-
ary plat plan #s -200 ; the first 21 lots known as Western Hills; and that
the developers will follow Village specifications according to sewer, water,
road and storm sewer const., and that the money will be placed in escrow for
roads (amount to be determined by the Village Engineer) at the time of sale
of property or at the time the Building permit is issued, which ever is
first to take place. Motion carried, no negative votes.
RE- ZONING ORDINANCE #69 On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and
seconded by Councilman Erickson that on recommendation from the Planning
Commission the Council approve the re- zoning of land requested by Franklin
Kurvers from residential to Commercial. Motion carried, no neg. votes.
Clerk to publish re- zoning Ordinance #69 in the Mtka, Herald.
MUNICIPAL BUILDING - Automatic door openers: On a motion made by Councilman
Tessness and seconded by Councilman Roeser that the Village Council approve
the request from the Fire Departmentciange.order for automatic door open-
ers for Municipal Building. Motion Carried, no neg votes. Chief of Dept.
to pick out door openers.
On a motion made by Councilman Erickson and seconded by Councilman Roeser
