The Chanhassen Village Council met in. regular meeting on October 23, 1967 at
8:00 P.M. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Pearson, Hill, Pennyhoff, and Klingelhutz.
The meeting was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. On a motion made by Councilman
Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the minutes of the October 16th
meeting be approved as submitted. Motion unanimously approved.
PARK AND RZC_R -1TION CQMIaTTEZ: The Clerk related that the Park and Recreation
Committee will not be present at this meetirg as so stated on the agenda. The
reason being that a meeting is scheduled for tomorrow evening between two

representatives from Greentaood Shores and two representatives from the Park and
? ecreation Committee and the Attorneys representing both parties.
HLNIRY SCHUTROP: ir. Henry Schutrop was present. He is the owner of the Feed Pull
located on main street. There has been a hardship created to h s business as a
result of the street improvement which is taking place. Engineer Flatebo explained
a scheme that m`__ght ease this hardship. The Engineer stated that a dirt raap
could be 'Quilt and a thin layer of blacktop spread over the top. On a motion made
by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Klingelhutz that we proceed with
the Engineer's scheme with the understanding that if it is unsuitable to Mr. Schutrop
he should return to a meeting and we will discuss it further. Motion unanimously
approved.
PLUMBING INSPECTIONS: A discussion was held regarding plumbing, water, and sewer
inspections. A proposed resolution was given to each Councilman. After discussing
the pros and cons, Councilman Hill suggested that matters be left as is for the
present. On a motion made by Councilman Bennytioff emend seconded by Councilman
Klingelhutz that Henry Wrase, Councilman Pearson and Hubert Forcier and the
Engineer be appointed to serve on a committee to check into the inspection problems.
Motion unanimously approved.
TETTER: A letter was received addressed to the Village Council from Mrs. Tarnowski.
Each Councilman read the letter.
1967 -2 & 3 AND SUNRISE HILLS SE`iMR AND WATER: The Assessment Roll was discussed briefly.
A letter was read from Mr. and Mrs. Silas Peller. Engineer to check into such.
40 FOOT LOT SIZES: Councilman Hill moves that a study be made on all 0 foot lot
sizes in the Village namely the Lake Minnewashta and Carver Beach areas and plattings
elsewhere that have lots that do not meet the Village Requirements, the number of
these and the development as to such in these areas. Councilman Benny'nof.f seconded.
Motion unanimously approved.
ERICKSON DRAINAGE: Mr. Erickson and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Scott were present. The
topic of discussion was the financing of said project. Don Nolte, Fiscal Agent,
advised that if 210 of the cost were assessed against the benefited properties, the
Village could pick up the balance of the cost and at a later date when the property
which is presently undeveloped, this being the major portion of the drainage area,
becomes developed the Village could regain this cost by putting a special levy on
each building permit issued in this area.

ERICKSON DRAINAGE (CONTD.): A lengthy discussion followed. Councilman Pearson
moved that the drainage problem by the Erickson and Scott properties be turned
over to the Engineer for more extensive study including costs to improve, said
problem and suggestions as to the assessments. Motion seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff and unanimously approved.
CERTIFICATE OF INDEBTEDNESS: Don Nolte explained the procedure for issuing
Certificates of Indebtedness. Conditional Sales_ Contract was also discussed.
C ZIRK'S SALARY: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman
Hill to pay the Clerk $800.00 for July, August, and September. Motion unanimously
approved.
On a motion made.by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Pearson that
the Clerk be paid $2.25 per hour and the Assistant Clerk $2.00 per hour from
October lst to December 31, 1967. Motion unanimously approved.
DEPUTY CLERK: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman
Klingelhutz that Mrs. Howard Meuwissen be appointed Deputy Clerk. Motion unanimously
approved.
314 TON PICK UP TRUCK WITH BODY AND BLA A bid opening was held on October 23,
1967 at 7:00 P.M. The following bids were received:

On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff approve
the lowest bid for a 3A ton pickup truck with body and blade from Town's Edge
Dodge upon recommendation from Courici lman - Pearson and Henry Wrase and subject to the
Attorney's approval. Motion unanimously approved.
On a motion made by Councilman KI- ingelLutz and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff,
the meeting be adjourned.
