1968 01 22Tel- E -Lect Meeting, January 22, 1968 Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Pearson, and Klingelhutz met with several members of the Tel- E -Lect Company for an informational meeting on the operations of Tel- E -Lect. Attorney Larson and Engineer Flatebo were present. Mr. Jim Hawks from Midwest Planning made the presentation for Tel- E -Lect. A letter from Tel- E -Lect of which the presentation was based is attached. Irvin Engler, Architect for Tel- E -Lect presented an artist's sketch on the new building. Tel- E -Lect emphasized that these plans were illustrative but not firm. Such things as screening, air polution, noise, sewer and water services, etc. were discussed. Mayor Coulter polled each Councilman for their views on the proposed operation and site. Councilman Bennyhoff stated he thought the site would be very desirable for this type of operation. Councilman Hill was not in favor. Councilman Pearson stated that if the polution and noise can be controlled he can see no problem. Councilman Klingelhutz stated he was well pleased with the plans. Mayor Coulter stated he can see no problems. Mayor Coulter then asked Attorney Larson, Engineer Flatebo, Ed Hjermstad, Nicholas Waritz, Park and Recreation members and Eden Prairie members to make a recommendation in writing on or before February 5, 1968, as to their feelings on the Tel- E -Lect proposed operation and site. The Council stated that no decision would be made tonight, the final decision will be made at the February 5, 1968, Council meeting. Tel- E -Lect stated they wanted two things from this Council. (1) Get in writing that the property in concern is zoned Industrial and (2) that the bonded indebtedness on the Municipal Building be borne by the entire new Village. Each Councilman expressed his views as to how he feels the Bonded Indebtedness should be paid off. Councilman Pearson feels it should be borne by the entire new Village. Councilman Klingelhutz feels that this Council should pass a resolution so that the Bonded Indebtedness is borne by everyone in the new Village. Councilman Bennyhoff feels that everyone should pay toward the building. Councilman Hill can see no reason why the old Village should absorb the cost of the building because everyone is benefiting from it. Mayor Coulter feels that this should be borne by all parties benefiting from the building. The meeting adjourned. a K nge utz Vi lage C erk
