RURAL TAXING DISTRICT
The Chanhassen Village Council met on May 27, 1968, at 8:00 P.M.
for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on Rural Taxing
District. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter,
Councilmen Klingelhutz, Hill, Bennyhoff, and Pearson.
Mayor Coulter called the public hearing to order. Attorney Larson
explained the proposed ordinance. Discussion followed.
A question was asked - is acreage a factor? Answer - no, only the
use of the land.
Question - Does selling a small parcel or acreage change the entire
parcel to urban. Attorney Larson stated the Ordinance does read
this way now.
A motion was made by Mayor Coulter and seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff that no decision would be made on Rural Taxing District
until the June 17th regular Council meeting. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Bennyhoff,
and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried.
The hearing adjourned at 9:15 P.M.

CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING May 27, 1968
The Chanhassen Village Council met in special meeting on May 27, 1968
at 9:30 P.M. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter,
Councilmen Klingelhutz, Bennyhoff, Pearson, and Hill.
On a motion by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson to
approve the plan and specifications on Kerber Drive. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff,
Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
On a motion by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson
that the Council advertise for bids on June 14, 1968, at 2:00 P.M.
and also included in bids would be the bid for Municipal Parking Site.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
PLANNING COMMISSION ORDINANCE: Attorney Larson discussed the proposed
Planning Commission Ordinance with the Council. A number of changes
were made. Attorney Larson was instructed to insert these and return
to Planning Commission for review.
The meeting adjourned at 11:10 P.M.
