1968 07 29CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING JULY 29, 1968 The Chanhassen Village Council meeting on July 29, 1968, at 8:00 p.m. was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. Councilman Bennyhoff was absent. MINUTES: On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson to approve the July 15th minutes. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Pearson, Klingelhutz, and Hill. No negative votes. Motion carried. On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Klingelhutz to approve the July 22nd minutes. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Pearson, Klingelhutz, and Hill. No negative votes. Motion carried. The July 16th and 23rd Planning Commission minutes and the July 10th Park and Recreation Commission minutes were noted and read by Mayor and Council. NELS HANSON: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Hill that we approve the plans for his house that is to be moved in and put on his property on Apple Road. Also to extend the bond date to August 5th, requesting him to move his house to the permanent site. The following voted in favor thereof: Councilmen Klingelhutz, Hill, and Pearson. Mayor Coulter, negative vote. Motion carried. COUNTY ROAD #14'DRAINAGE PROBLEM: The Engineer reported that it would take 750 feet of 24 inch culvert at approximately $6,500 to be installed along County Road #14 to solve the drainage problem. This amount of work would solve the problem temporarily. - Sometime at a later date it would have to be extended into Bluff Creek. There were several other temporary measures that could be taken in which the Maintenance Committee will look into. IDA JOHNSON FENCE: The Engineer reported that the fence is definitely upon the 66 foot right of way property on the north side of the street, the fence line is-an average of 16 feet. STORM SEWER, ST. ANDREWS STREET: On a motion made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Pearson not to extend storm sewer west on St. Andrews Street. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. WELL SITE: The Engineer told of possible well locations and qualification that a site should have. Administrator is to look into sites. STOP SIGN: Stop signs approved by Council upon recommendation by Maintenance and Police Department. PLANNING COMMISSION: On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Mayor Coulter that Dean Scheff, Richard Lyman, Al Barnacle, Anne Neils, Nicholas Waritz, and John Neveaux be appointed to the Planning Commission. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. On a motion made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Pearson that Harry Pauly be appointed to the Planning Commission. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. DOG CONTRACT: On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the Administrator be instructed to have the contract signed and work out the hours. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. 1 1 MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE: On a motion made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Hill that the Village Maintenance Committee proceed with the sealcoat that was in the original program. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Klingelhutz, Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes. Motion carried. On a motion by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Klingelhutz to purchase a one ton "Rosco" packer $1,295.00. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. BEER LICENSE: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Klingelhutz to approve the on sale non - intoxicating liquor license for St. Hubert's Church. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. GREEN RIVER ORDINANCE: No action was taken at this meeting. UTILITY COMMITTEE: On a motion made by Mayor Coulter that Jerry Schlenk's of_August 1, 1968. by Councilman Pearson and seconded monthly wage be $500 per lionth as TIME: 11:35 P.M.
