1968 08 05CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 5, 1968 The Chanhassen Village Council meeting on August 5, 1968, at 8:00 p.m. was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, and Bennyhoff. Councilman Klingelhutz was absent. MINUTES: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Hill to approve the minutes of July 29 with one change that the motion approving the July 15th minutes should reflect that Councilman Bennyhoff was absent on July 15th. - The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hill and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. HOUSEMOVE: On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve the relocation of the Joe Froehling house upon recommendation and reasons submitted by the Planning Commission. The following voted in favor thereof: Councilmen Bennyhoff, Pearson, and Hill. Mayor Coulter voted no. Motion carried. SOUTHWEST SANITARY SEWER DISTRICT: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Hill to postpone a decision on any action regarding joining Southwest Sanitary Sewer District but to notify the district that we are continuing our study and are vitally interested in the sewer district in its total concept. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. SUMMONS BY VICTORIA: A report was given by Attorney Larson concerning a summons by Victoria against Chanhassen regarding the loss of sales tax refund because the State had not allowed them the proper population figures after annexation of land that was in Chanhassen Township. A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman .Hill to instruct the Village Attorney to proceed with the necessary steps. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, and Bennyhoff. No negative votes. Motion carried. ROSE LANE: The administrator was instructed to have the Shoeewood Village Council send a letter to Chanhassen as to their feelings and use of the key that they haV.e under their jurisdiction. PERSONNEL POLICY: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Hill that the Village pass Resolution number 68 -8 -1 for adoption of the Personnel Policy dated August 5, 1968. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, and Bennyhoff. No negative votes. Motion carried. STOP SIGNS: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve two stop signs on St. Joseph's Street at the intersection of St. Mary's Street, a stop sign at the exit of Western Hills, and exit of Auditor's Subdivision #2. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, and Bennyhoff. No negative votes. Motion carried. DOG: The Administrator was instructed to send a letter to the Sheriff's Office explaining the dog catching contract. HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH ROAD: On a motion made by Councilman Bennyhoff and.seconded by Councilman Pearson to accept this street for a public Village street'because'it appears - that this was the intention'of the Township'at time of construction of this street: The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen' Bennyhoff, Hill, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS: A decision was made that appointments for this Board of Adjustments and Appeals will be made on August 12. It was felt`'that'the Board should consist of'at least one Councilman and one Planning Commission member,'the'rest to be appointed at large. INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION: Councilman Hill and Councilman Bennyhoff to work with'Mr. Reichert in setting up this'Commission and work out proposed budget for 1969. TIME: 11:00 P.M.
