1968 08 26CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 26, 1968
The Chanhassen Village Council meeting on August 26, 1968, at 8:OO p.m.
was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were
present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Pearson, Klingelhutz, Hill, and
Bennyhoff.
MINUTES: On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman
Klingelhutz to approve the minutes of the August 19th meeting. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill,
Pearson, Bennyhoff, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
PARK AND RECREATION MINUTES: The August 19th minutes were noted and
read by Mayor and Council. Councilman Hill commented that he felt that
it was a good decision by the Park and Recreation Commission on the
Dutch,'-Elm Ordinance.
On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
to approve the $300.00 expense to send a member of the Park and
Recreation Commission to the National Park and Recreation Association
Conference in Seatle. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Bennyhoff, and Klingelhutz. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
OPEN HOUSE: On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by
Councilman Klingelhutz that the Village work with the Fire Department
in having an open house on October 6 at 2:00 p.m. in the Municipal
Building. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter,
Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative
votes did:'.
PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION CONTRACT: On a motion made by Councilman
Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the agreement with 9kauer
and Associates, Inc. be approved. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,
and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
KAISER DRIVEWAY: The Engineer and Maintenance Foreman were instructed
to meet with Mr. Kaiser and arrive�at a decision.
CHANHASSEN ESTATES: On a motion made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded
by Councilman Klingelhutz to accept the streets and utilities. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill,
Bennyhoff, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
STATE AID PROJECT: The Engineer was instructed to answer to the
Council the letter from the church. The Village Council will inspect
this project after the County and State have given their final
inspection and approval,
INTERNATIONAL CITY MANAGER'S ASSOCIATION: On a motion made by
Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Klingelhutz that the
Village become a member. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Pearson, and Klingelhutz.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
BUDGETS: Discussion on individual budgets. The following totals
for each department were pre- liminarily approved.

On a motion made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
