1968 10 21CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 21, 1968 The Chanhassen Village Council meeting on October 21, 1968, at 8:00 p.m. was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. MINUTES: Councilman Klingelhutz stated that at the October 14th meeting he was called out of the meeting after the Sign Ordinance was discussed. On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson to approve the minutes of the October 14th meeting as amended. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Klingelhutz, and Bennyhoff. No negative votes. Motion carried. The Planning Commission minutes of October 15 were read and noted. SOUTHWEST SANITARY SEWER DISTRICT: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Mayor Coulter that the Village of Chanhassen join the Southwest Sanitary Sewer District and the Mayor and Clerk be instructed to sign the agreement for the District. Mayor Coulter.be appointed member to the District. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that the Engineer, Fiscal Agent, and Attorney be available for use by the Village member to the District for any information that he feels necessary.._ The following voted in favor thereof.: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Bennyhoff, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried.. On a motion made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that Councilman Dick Pearson be the alternate member to the Southwest Sanitary Sewer District for the Village of Chanhassen. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Klingelhutz, Bennyhoff, Hill, and Pearson.. No negative votes. Motion carried. PLUMBING ORDINANCE: On a motion made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the Plumbing Ordinance be adopted as amended. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Klingelhutz, and Bennyhoff. No negative votes. Motion carried. BILLS: On a motion made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that all bills be paid after change orders have been signed on projects. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. Councilman Bennyhoff moved the adoption of the following Resolution: BE IT RESOLVED that the following bills be paid by warrants: Sun Newspapers for the amount of $9.60, check #2049 General Account, Plehal Blacktopping for the amount of $8,106.55, check #2050 General Account, and Village of Chanhassen for the amount of $5,000, check #2053 General Account. Resolution seconded by Councilman Pearson. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Bennyhoff, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. On a motion made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Hill that the Administrator is to inform the Engineer that the contractors are to have a statement in his hands on or before the end of each month. The Engineer is to check and have statement submitted to the Village Office by the 10th of the month. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Bennyhoff, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. UTILITIES: On a_motion made by Mayor Coulter and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that the Village:approve <:;.the bill submitted by Emil Pauly in the amount of $51.00. The following votes were cast: Mayor Coulter- yes, Councilman Hill— no, Councilman Pearson - yes, Councilman Klingelhutz - yes, Councilman Bennyhoff - yes. Motion carried. COUNTY ROAD #14 (DRAINAGE PROBLEM): On a motion made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded' :by Councilman Pearson that the Village would lower the two culverts on the Ray Schmitt driveways but before the Village can enter private property to do this work an easement is necessary. The easement would have a waiver clause of any claims against the Village because of lowering the culverts. A copy of the easement must be approved by the Village Attorney and registered with the Register of Deeds at the Carver County Courthouse. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hill, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. 1967 -3 & 4: . Mr. deLancey was present to inform the Council that the final work had not been completed on his property at this time. The Council instructed him to write a letter on the individual items. INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION: Industrial Commission will be on the agenda November 4 for discussion. on a motion made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Pearson the meeting adjourned.
