1969 04 07CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING.-AP.RIL 7, 1969
The Chanhassen Village Council meeting on April 7, 1969, at 8:00 p.m.
was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were
present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Pearson, and
Klingelhutz.
PURGATORY -RILEY CREEK WATERSHED DISTRICT: A motion was made by
Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that
Ray Peterson and Jack Hendrickson who live in the Riley Creek drainage
area and J. Ward Passe and Franklin Kurvers who live in the Purgatory
Creek Watershed area be submitted for consideration to the proposed
Purgatory -Riley Creek Watershed District Board. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Pearson,
and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried.
LIQUOR LICENSES: A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded
by Councilman Hill to approve the on and off sale intoxicating and
the on and off sale non - intoxicating liquor license applications
submitted by Pauly's Bar, Inc., Jerry's Old West Bar, and the Chanhassen
Dinner Theatre, and the Sunday Liquor Sales application of the
Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Bennyhoff, and Klingelhutz.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
POLICY FOR FINANCING IMPROVEMENTS: Don Nolte, Fiscal Agent, explained
various ways how a sanitary sewer trunk line could be extended and
not be di.,burden on the taxpayers of the Village. The major problem
being that some properties are still being farmed and do not require
sewer at this time. The assessment policy should be determined so
that the adjoining area would pay their share when it was needed.
Considerable discussion was on the report by the Village Engineer
on the proposed sanitary sewer trunk line to serve the Lake Ann area.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
Pearson that the Administrator and Fiscal Agent present a financing
feasibility report on the drainage area for this Lake Ann trunk line
to be presented to the Council as soon as possible. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff,
Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried.
COMPREHENSIVE-SEWER AND WATER STUDY: A motion was made by Councilman
Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the Village Engineer be
instructed to proceed with the application to HUD for a loan for
advance planning for sanitary sewer and in a separate application
to HUD for a loan for advance planning for municipal water system.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
.Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
NEW WELL SITE: Councilman Pearson moved the adoption of the following
.Resolution: BE IT RESOLVED that $275.78, check #103 General Account,
be paid to Carver County Treasurer for payment of taxes on well site
1968 -2, be paid on a warrant. Resolution seconded by Councilman Hill.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill,
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
