1969 08 26CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 26, 1969 The Chanhassen Village Council Special Meeting on August 26, 1969, at 8:00 p.m. was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Klingelhutz to approve the August 18 Council Minutes. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. A motion, was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that the Park and Recreation Commission minutes of August 19 were read and noted. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Hill, Pearson, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. SOUTHWEST SANITARY SEWER DISTRICT BONDS: A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Hill to approve the bond sale for $1,060,000 to the low bidder Dain, Kalman, and Quail and the First National Bank of St. Paul with a net interest cost of 6.8464. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. These bonds will be assumed by the Southwest Sanitary Sewer District. 68 -1B STORM SEWER: A motion was made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson to approve the plans and specifications and advertise for bids on September 15 at 2:00 p.m. The following voted in favor thereof: Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. Councilman Klingelhutz as Acting Mayor was in charge while this project was discussed. A motion was made by Councilman Hill and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the Administrator be authorized, using the Attorney if needed, to secure the necessary easements for this project. The following voted in favor thereof: Councilmen Hill, Pearson, Bennyhoff, and Klingelhutz. No negative votes. Motion carried. TAX EXEMPT MUNICIPAL BONDS: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Pearson approving a resolution urging the defeat of proposed legislation that would eliminate tax exempt status of income from municipal bonds. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hill, Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
