1969 09 29CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES SEPTEMBER 29, 1969
The Chanhassen Village Council Meeting on September 29, 1969,
at 7:00 p.m. was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The following
members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Pearson, Klingelhutz, and Hill.
From 7 :00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. a special public informational hearing
was held to.explain the street naming and numbering map. No
objections were raised by citizens.
MINUTES A motion was made by Councilman Hill and seconded by
Councilman Klingelhutz to approve the Council Minutes of
September 22, 1969 with the following change.
Be it resolved Citizens of Chanhassen that the members of the
Park and Recreation Commission were presented a comprehensive
plan for park development in Chanhassen, and prepared this
brochure to explain the plan and how it .°be achieved. The
Village Council has set November 4, 1969, . as the date for the
frond election to decide the future of the plan for parks. We
urge you to study and consider the plan and.the financing
proposal as a basis for exercising your responsibility in
shaping the future of the Village of Chanhassen.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by
Councilman Hill that the Planning Commission minutes of
September 23, 1969, were read and noted. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Klingelhutz, Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
BUDGE Individual items and each department was discussed
from 8:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. No final decision was reached on
any department.
STREET NAMING AND NUMBERING MAP A motion was made by Councilman
Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve the
street naming and numbering map as submitted and be inacted as an
Ordinance # 36. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor
Coulter, Councilmen- Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Pearson, and Hill.
No negative votes. Motion carried. -The Village Attorney is
instructed to draw up the Ordinance and Administrator to have
published.
LAKE VIEW APARTMENTS The Village Engineer submitted a statement
that the Sewer Plant at Lake View Hills is large enough for an
estimated amount of apartment units in the amount of 225. The
approval of the application now being considered would make a total
of 167 units. A motion was made by Councilman Hill and seconded
._to approve the application for a permit for a 33 unit apartment
building in Lake View Hills. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Pearson, and Hill.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
Council Minutes, September 29, 1969
INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION.:- A- motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz
and seconded by_Councilman Hill to- appoint Arnold Ryba to the
Industrial Commission until December 31, 1969, when all appointments
will be made on a scheduled basis. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Pearson,
and Hill...No.negative- votes. Motion carried.
PARK AND RECREATION A motion was made:by Councilman Hill and
seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to approve a contract with
Brauer and Associates in the amount of $2,000 to make a LAWCON
application. The Mayor and Clerk- Administrator authorized to
sign agreement.
TAX FORFIETED LAND _11 A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz
and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that Lots 1, Block 2, 21 and
22, Block 2, of Minnewashta Heights, be acquired for Village use.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilman
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes.
Motion carried. The Village Attorney is to proceed in acquiring
above stated lots. A motion -was made by Councilman Klingelhutz,
and seconded by Councilman.Bennyhoff to approve the classification
and sale of Lot 1, Block 1, Lot 3, Block 2, Minnewashta Heights,
and Lots 29,56, and 29 and 57, Carver Beach. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,
Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes. Motion carried.
69 -2 SEWER AND WATER EXTENSION :' A motion was made by Councilman
Hill and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to authorize the Engineer
to prepare plans and specifications for this project to be presented
at the October 13, 1969, meeting.for approval. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor.Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,
Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes. Motion carried. A motion
was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman
Klingelhutz that if a public hearing is necessary on this project,
it will be set for 7:00 p.m., October 20, 1969. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Klingelhutz, Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes. Motion carried.
HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and
seconded by Councilman Klingelhutz to adopt resolution # 291069
pertaining to a request that the highway department reappraise the
safety conditions on the intersection of highway 101 and 5. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilman Benny-
hoff, Klingelhutz, Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
ADMINISTRATION A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded
by Councilman Klingelhutz to approve the.pur- chase of a desk,
credenza, and chair, in the amount of $235.00. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen- Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,
Pearson, and Hill. No negative votes, Motion carried.
