MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor and City Council
FROM: Don Ashworth, City Manager
DATE: March 22, 1994
SUBJ: City Code Amendment Regarding Changing the Hours Solid Waste/Recycling can
be Collected (From Starting at 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.)
The city council requested that this modification be made to city ordinances. Attached is the
proposed ordinance. Please note that as currently drafted, the change would apply to all
properties including industrial and commercial. I do not believe that this was the council's intent.
Accordingly, staff would recommend that you approve the ordinance conditioned upon the City
Attorney redrafting it to only apply to residential districts. The redrafted ordinance will be
scheduled for second and final reading on April 11, 1994.
