AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14
OF THE CHANHASSEN CITY CODE CONCERNING
ANIMALS TAKEN INTO PARKS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANHASSEN ORDAINS:
S ection 1. Section 14 -65 of the Chanhassen City Code is amended to read as follows:
No person shall be permitted to take any animal, including but not limited to dogs
and cats, into a park. This prohibition shall not apply to properly harnessed or leashed
service animals, from a recognized service animal training program, assisting blind or
deaf persons or persons with a physical or sensory disability.
Section 2 . This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and
publication.

OF THE CHANHASSEN CITY CODE CONCERNING RULES
' OF CONSTRUCTION AND DEFINITIONS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANHASSEN ORDAINS:
' Section 1 . Section 1 -2 of the Chanhassen City Code is amended by adding the following
' definitions:
May. The word "may" is to be construed as being permissive.
' May not, Shall not. "May not," "shall not" and similar phrases have a mandatory
negative effect and state a prohibition.
' Must. The word "must" is to be construed as being mandatory.
' Shall. The word "shall" is to be construed as being mandatory.
Statutes. References to "statutes" are to the Minnesota Statutes unless otherwise
' specified.
Section 2 . Section 1 -4 of the Chanhassen City Code is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 1 -4. Catchlines, history notes, and references of sections.
' The catchlines of the several sections of this Code printed in boldface type are
intended as mere catchwords to indicate the content of the section. Neither the
catchlines, history notes, or references shall be deemed or taken to be the titles of such
' sections, nor as any part of the section, nor, unless expressly so provided, shall they be
so deemed when any of such sections, including the catchlines, are amended or
reenacted.

OF THE CHANHASSEN CITY CODE CONCERNING
t SALES OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANHASSEN ORDAINS:
Section 1 . Section 10 -80 of the Chanhassen City Y Code is amended to read as follows:
It shall be unlawful for any person, except a licensed pharmacist to sell, give,
barter, furnish, deliver, or dispose of, in any manner, either directly or indirectly, any
spirituous, vinous, malt, or fermented liquors containing more than one -half of one
percent of alcohol by volume in any quantity, for any purpose, whatever, to any person
under the age of twenty -one (21) years, or to any intoxicated person, or habitual
' drunkard, or to any person to whom sale is prohibited by state law.
Section 2 . This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and
' publication.
