Application for Chanhassen Planning Commission
Don Holman
Reasons for seeking this position and your Qualifications:
I have always believed that a person should take an active role
in the community in which they live. A growing community like
Chanhassen needs a rational balance between the development of
open space, parks, public buildings, schools, homes and
businesses_ While serving on the HWMPC we were give the
responsibility of planning and the development of a hazardous
waste containment facility for the State of Minnesota. After
about three years of working with developers and county
representatives the State Legislature decided to focus on other
alternatives. I was also involved the development of the
Waste Education Coalition and became its first chair after its
creation by the State Legislature. Working with planners and
architects on the design of the chemistry facilities on campus
was also a part of my position_
