The well -being of my classmates and our school are important to me and the school board is very responsible for many decisions that affect us. I would love to be involved in something that would give me a voice to speak for the student body. My various activities listed on the front page will help me contribute actively to all meetings. Perhaps one of my greatest strengths is that I have always communicated openly with both students and adults. People have always commented on my ability to make my point clearly but also to listen to what others have to say. I believe I can make quite a positive difference for our school. I know much about Chaska Iligh School and the students in it. I feel I am greatly respected by both teachers and my peers. I am sure I could make an exemplary addition to our district's school board. 7021 Center Drive ' Eden Prairie, MN 55346 April 25, 1995 Dear Committee Members: ' I recommend, with great enthusiasm, Rachel Berg for a student position on the Chaska district's school board. ' I have known Rachel and worked with and observed her in action at Immanuel Lutheran Church since she was a pre- schooler. Recently she has served on the church's call committee chared with the task of selecting our new youth minister and has been nominated elections this week) to serve on ' the Youth Council. She has been a faithful choir member since age four. As music director I depend on Rachel in all sorts of emergencies. Likewise, she is always ready, able and willing to serve in many music, worship, fellowship, ' service and youth tasks. Rachel is a positive, enthusiastic person with natural leadership and ' developed skills. She is a mature, independent and critical thinker with perception, constructive and creative ideas and visions, compassion, a sense of humor and commitment to the task at hand. She works well with adults and expresses herself articulately. Although it isn't usually the acceptable ' thing for teenagers to acknowledge their parents' and other'adults' ideas positively, Rachel does so readily. ' I have also known Rachel's family for these many yearras positive role models as parents, educators and community leaders. Her patents have a com- mitment to youth, quality education, postive values and high standards. ' Rachel gets strong parental support and encouragement for new endeavors. Rachel has grown up in the Chaska schools. She has been involved not only as a high academic achiever, but also in the sports, music and arts of ' the system. I can confidently recommend Rachel for a school board position. She ' will bring a positive contribution to the board's work. Also, the experience will contribute to the development of her potential as a pr es ent and future community leader. Sincerely, ' Joan Meyer 934 -0063 April 28, 1995 It is an honor for me to write a letter of recommendation for Rachel Berg. She is a candidate that should be given your strongest consid- eration. I have known Rachel Berg since she was a youngster. She has been a student in two of my sixth grade classes, an athlete at basket- ball camps I've run and a friend of my daughter's. Rachel is a dedicated and conscientious student who produces high quality work to the best of her ability at all times. She is an average athlete who wouldn't accept her physical limits and produces well because of dedication, hard work and determination. Rachel has a big heart and is compassionate, caring and concerned about all those students she has contact with. Miss Berg may have to fight dealing with her sensitivity at times, but it remains one of her strongest attributes. Without reservation I recommend Rachel Berg. She will take committee responsibility seriously and be a strong, contributing member. Rachel is a young lady with tremendous ethics and drive. I certainly stand behind her candidacy. Respectful , Bob Downs ' To whom it may concern, April 24, 1995 ' Rachel is an extremely friendly, high quality person who leads by example. She is a person who asks when she needs help and is there for others when they need her. I believe that Rachel's greatest strengths are her persistence, ability to work ' Nvith others, and her heipful, friendly nature. Rachel is a disciplined, honest young woman. She has remarkable judgment ' and responsibility for her age. She is a dedicated, self - directed learner. What separates her from other students is her desire to learn. In class she would regularly confer with me about her work in an effort to improve and brow. Rachel has excellent communication skills and a fern, relaxed approach to doing her work. This makes her very easy to have in the classroom and enjoyable to ' work with. This also makes her popular with her classmates. Rachel is respected by both students and faculty. She has the ability to ' combine academics and extra - curricular activities, while maintaining success' in ' both. She is an exceptional young woman and would be an asset to the District 112 Board of Education. ' Sincerely, ' Dorothy Clark -Miles L' I
