PROPOSED MOTION
"Approve a Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Victoria for snow and ice
control in the Tristan Heights neighborhood, PW309."
City Council approval requires a simple majority vote of the City Council
present.
DISCUSSION
The City of Victoria has asked the City of Chanhassen to consider plowing the
Tristian Heights neighborhood. This development is mainly west of Minnewasta
Parkway and north of TH 5.
Staff has reviewed Victoria's request and believes Chanhassen city forces can add
this area into the snow and ice control route without any decrease in service to
Chanhassen residents. Chanhassen trucks currently maintain a portion of 77
Street, Minnewashta Parkway, Ridge Hill Road and Kings Road for continuation
of the plow route reasons. Adding the additional street segments to the system
should not decrease service levels. Victoria will still take care of customer
complaints and any damage associated with plowing activities.
A fee of $350 per event will be charged to the City of Victoria for this service.
This fee can be adjusted annually based on anticipated cost to complete the work.
