Attention: Mr. Don Ashworth, City Manager
Subject: Revised Schedule for City Hall Expansion
Dear Mr. Ashworth:
DWA (8- 23 -95)
I have enclosed six copies of a possible project schedule that is based upon receiving Council's
authorization to proceed with this project at their Monday, August 28 meeting. For
convenience, I have presented the same schedule in bar chart and CPM formats. The following
items should be noted when reviewing this schedule:
If the Council decides to proceed with this project for 1996 construction, it is important
to get started on the design as soon as possible. Starting plans now would allow us to
receive bids in late February or early March. I would anticipate that pricing then would
be much more favorable than if bidding is done in May or June.
This schedule would allow construction to take place without added winter construction
costs.
As shown, I would recommend bidding the steel and precast concrete earlier in order to
ensure delivery on time.
Starting on this schedule would allow the City to occupy the completed project in
October, 1996.
Let me know if we can provide additional information regarding the project. I will be available
for Monday night's meeting if this item is to be discussed.
Sincerely,
1 AMCON CM

Manager's Comments The council requested
that this item be placed as an agenda
item to move ahead with more detailed
plans or not. Hopefully the decision
will be to move forward. I also
believe that the more detailed plans
will demonstrate that the addition is
simplistic, functional, cost effective,
and adaptive for future growth.
