The City applied for this grant in 2011 and was not selected; however the City did
receive feedback from MnDOT's review panel on its 2011 application. MnDOT
indicated that the 2012 application should clarify the limits of the TH 101 project
that received Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) funding and provide
more detail on the improvements that are eligible for Municipal Agreement grant

funding. MnDOT staff believes that clarification on these items will result in a stronger
application and improve the chance of being selected for this program. If the City's application
is successful, the grant will provide additional funding for the overall TH 101 project. Staff has
been working with MnDOT and Carver County to establish the budget and financing plan for the
project and the Municipal Agreement program was identified as a possible source of additional
funding. The maximum funding available for any individual project through this program is
$702,000. Staff is proposing to request the maximum funding amount.
The Municipal Agreement applications are due on July 31, 2012. Successful grant applications
will be posted in November 2012.
