BOX 147 • CHANHASSEN, MINNESOTA 55317 (612) 937 -1900 • FAX (612) 937 -5739 MEMORANDUM TO: Don Ashworth, City Manager 1 FROM: Charles Folch, City Engineer DATE: February 22, 1993 SUBJ: Approve Plans and Specifications for Trunk Highway 101 North Leg Railroad Crossing; Authorize Advertising for Bids Project No. 88 -22B -1 At their regular meeting on December 14, 1992, the City Council awarded the Trunk Highway 101 North Leg Realignment Improvement Project No. 88 -22B to C. S. McCrossan. One of the specific elements of this project is the railroad crossing. Due to the specialized ' design and construction involved with this element, the work effort is being bid out under a separate contract. The construction timetable for the railroad grade crossing has been ' defined to be compatible with the overall roadway improvement project schedule which is anticipated to be substantially completed by the fall of 1993. The project plans and specifications for the railroad grade crossing have been completed and are ready for MnDOT submittal as such. Due to the size of the project plans and specifications, they could not be included with the packet but a copy is available in my office for review. It is therefore recommended that the City Council approve the plans and specifications for the railroad grade crossing in conjunction with the Trunk Highway 101 North Leg Realignment Project No. 88 -22B -1 and authorize the advertisement for bids. ktm Attachments: 1.
