Phone: 952.2271140 Fax: 952.2271110 Park & Recreation Phone: 952.2271120 BACKGROUND Fax: 952.2271110 On November 1, 2012, the Chanhassen Fire Department (CFD) learned that the Recreation Center Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department in Queens, NY lost 4 of their response 2310 Coulter Boulevard Phone: 952.2271400 vehicles (two engines, two ambulances) in Hurricane Sandy. Members of Fax: 952.2271404 Chanhassen Fire contacted the department, and learned that they would be very interested in acquiring Engine 22. Phone: 952.2271130 Fax: 952.2271110 Engine 22 is a 1981 pumper truck. The CFD acquired a new Pumper Truck in Public Works 2007, but decided at the time to put E -22 in reserve status. E -22 is for slated for 7901 Park Place retirement at the end of 2012. Staff estimates its value at approximately $3,000 to Phone: 952.2271300 $5,000. Fax: 952.2271310 The Chanhassen Fire Department worked with the Mdewakanton Sioux Fire Senior Center Department to coordinate a tribal donation to pay for the cost of shipping the Phone: 952.2271125 Fax: 952.2271110 truck to Queens, NY, about a $5,000 cost. The City of Chanhassen shipped the Truck to Broad Channel via a transportation company on Saturday, November 3, Web Site 2012 on loan. Staff proposes that the City Council not request the truck's return www.ci.chanhassen.mn.us and donate the vehicle to Broad Channel, via the attached resolution. That Chanhassen Fire Department Engine 22 is donated to the Broad Channel, New York Volunteer Fire Department.
