Don Ashworth, City Manager
Date Submitted to Council
1 FROM: Scott Harr, Public Safety Director /40 -(3../ 3
DATE: December 8, 1993 -
1 SUBJ: Fire Engine 210 Refurbishing Bid
I This memo is to recommend acceptance by the City Council of the proposal submitted by Toyne
Fire Truck Service. The bid from Toyne is $74,970.00, and the only other bid received was from
1 General Safety Equipment Corporation at $84,870.00.
Please recall that earlier this year I recommended the bids that had been submitted not be
1 accepted because they were in excess of the amount that had been budgeted for this 1993 repair
process. We did not fully realize the extent of repairs required when we budgeted the original
amount.
' In working with the City Manager on the 1994 budget, we agreed that we would budget the
additional amount necessary in next year's budget, so that both the 1993 /1994 amounts could be
1 combined to receive these necessary repairs.
1 RECOMMENDATION:
I It is the recommendation of the Chanhassen Fire Chief, the members of the Chanhassen Fire
Department appointed to the truck committee regarding this refurbishing project, and the Public
Safety Director that the City Council accept the bid from Toyne Fire Truck Service.
