SUBJ: Comprehensive Plan Amendment — Land Use Map
PROPOSED MOTION
"The Chanhassen City Council authorizes staff to submit the amendment to the
2030 Comprehensive Plan regarding a land use map amendment from
Residential — Low Density to Residential — Low and Medium Density for
jurisdictional review."
City Council approval requires a majority vote of City Council present.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
For the John Knoblauch development, Preserve at Rice Lake which received concept
planned unit development review on January 28, 2013, the land use map must be
amended to dual guide the property to Residential — Low and Medium Density to
permit the project. As part of the process, the City must submit the Comprehensive
Plan amendment to all adjacent governmental units for a review. Ultimately, City
Council will vote on the amendment and submit it to the Metropolitan Council for
review for consistency with System Framework. Authorizing the distribution for
jurisdictional review does not oblige the City to approve the amendment.
