SUBJ: Set 1992 Liquor License Fees

In February of each year the City Council establishes liquor license fees. As fees were
increased by 5% in 1991, no increase is proposed for 1992. Approval of individual licenses
will occur in March.
1 RECOMMENDATION
1 Approval of the attached Resolution Establishing 1992 Liquor License Fees is
recommended.

III RESOLUTION SETTING 1992 LIQUOR LICENSE FEES
I BE IT RESOLVED by the Chanhassen City Council as follows:
1. The annual license fee for an on -sale intoxicating liquor license for the license year
1 May 1, 1992 through April 30, 1993 shall be:
1 Floor Area:

1 Restaurant $5,880 $ 9,240 $12,600

1 2. Various other license fees shall be set as follows:
I Off -Sale Intoxicating $200.00
Off-Sale Non - Intoxicating $ 55.00
On -Sale Non - Intoxicating $270.00
I Sunday Sales $200.00
Club License $500.00 (based on
number of members)
1 Wine /Beer License $270.00
I 3. For the purpose of liquor license fees, the terms restaurant, non - restaurant and floor
area are defined as follows:
1 Restaurant: Any establishment under the control of a single proprietor or
manager having appropriate facilities to serve meals, for seating not fewer
1 than 125 guests at one time, where in consideration of payment therefore,
meals are regularly served at tables to the general public, and which employs
an adequate staff for the usual and suitable service to its guests in which the
1 principal part of the business is serving of foods, the gross sales of which
foods shall be not less than 60%- of the gross sales of the establishment.

Floor Area: All of the' floor area of the various floors of a licensed premises 1
measured to the centers of all partitions; except those areas primarily for non-
service purposes including, but not limited to, dead storage, building

management, toilets or restrooms, mechanical equipment rooms and kitchens.
Bar: Any on -sale liquor license establishment with 40% or more of annual
I
gross sales derived from the sale of liquor.
