Approve Contract Time Extension for West 79 Street
Improvement Project No. 91-8
I have recently been notified by the project consulting engineer,
Scott Harri of Van Doren Hazard Stallings, Inc., that the general •
I contractor for West 79th Street Improvement Project No. 91,-8 has
requested an extension of time to their contract. The primary
I reason for this request is based on the fact that there was a
, . thrpe-week delay in awarding this contract due to some
II outstanding items that needed to be completed associated with the
Valvoline Rapid Oil development contract. It is apparent that
L the Valvoline Rapid Oil development schedule has also fallen
II behind. Interestingly enough, both projects began simultaneouly
this week and appear to be, again, on compatible schedules.
t
II It is therefore recommended that the West 79th Street Improvement
Project No. 91-8 contract completion dates be extended to
August 16, 1991 for utility work and August 23, 1991 for ,
1I bituminous wearing course: , .

I Dear Charles:
The attached letter from Midwest Asphalt requests an extension of
I time to their contract to August 16, 1991 for utility work and
August 23, 1991 for bituminous wearing course. We agree that an
extension of time is appropriate in this case. The original
completion dates were based upon the Rapid Oil Change building
I construction schedule. Their schedule has fallen behind to the
point that construction on the site has not yet begun.
I Midwest is scheduled to mobilize this week and begin work on Monday
July 22, 1991. If you have any questions or need a formal change
order processed, please call.
1 Sincerely yours,
VAN DOREN- HAZARD - STALLINGS, INC.

RE: Extension of contract time for West 79th street improvements
Dear Scott, '
Due to the fact that the award of the West 79th street improvement project
was delayed by three weeks, and that the contracts were not executed until
the week following; Midwest Asphalt Corporation is requesting an extension
of the completion dated to August 16th, 1991 for the utility work, and Augist
23rd for the bituminous wear course. '
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
Sincerely, '
Andrew W. Shetter
