A Resolution to Recognize
1 February 7, 1991 as National Girls &
Women in Sports Day.

WHEREAS it is known that a girl learns determination, discipline,
and confidence when she learns to swim and shoot a basket,
qualities that will help her in school and life; and
WHEREAS it is desirable to bring attention to the needs of females
' in sports; and
' WHEREAS it is recognized that sports and fitness activities can
benefit the lives of all girls and women,
BE IT RESOLVED THAT •
Thursday, February 7, 1991, be observed as National Girls & Women
' in Sports Day in the communities of Carver, Chanhassen, Chaska,
Victoria, and School District #112.

All students in grades 4-12 are invited to celebrate National Giris and Women in Sports Day at a free
after - school event at the new Chaska Community Center on Thursday, February 7, 1991. 1
4:00 p.m. SPORTS FOR LIFE!
Panel - Chaska High graduates who continue to be involved in sports
4:30 p.m. Break -Out Session - Talk informally with panel members
4:45 p.m. OPEN RECREATION TIME!
The pool and gymnasium will be open at no charge to registered District 112 students 1
Students must provide own transportation. Please return the form below to your school office by Jan. 24. 1
