The project is being constructed through a cooperative agreement program with MnDOT. The plans and specifications have been preliminarily approved by MnDOT's district office and have been forwarded on to I the central office for approval and drafting of the cooperative agreement. II Since this project is on the "fast track", it was necessary to place the ad for bids for publishing in the September 5, 1991 issue of the Villager in order to allow for sufficient time prior to bid opening. The bid opening has been scheduled for II September 17, 1991 and will be presented for approval to the City Council at the September 23, 1991 City Council meeting. I It is therefore recommended that the construction plans and specifications for the Trunk Highway 5 frontage road improvements at Lone Cedar Lane be approved and advertising for bids of the Iproject be ordered. jms I Attachment: 1. OFFICIAL ENGINEERING COPY Received Revision No. Approved by City Engineer IDate 9-4-9/ �� Approved by City Council PRINTED ON RECYCLED PAPER Date ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS T.H. 5 RIGHT TURN LANE AT LONE CEDAR LANE CITY OF CHANHASSEN, MINNESOTA, CITY PROJECT NO. 90-9 • Notice is hereby given that sealed bids, in duplicate, will be received in the office of the City Manager, Chanhassen City Hall, 690 Coulter Drive, Chanhassen, Minnesota, 55317, at 9:00 A.M. local time, September 17, 1991, and then publicly opened by the City Manager and, Engineer, tabulated and considered by the City Council at their next regular City Council meeting for the construction of approximately II 1970 C.Y. common excavation, 3220 C.Y. granular borrow, 790 tons aggregate base, 390 tons of bituminous surfacing, 320 L.F. of 12" through 24" RCP storm sewer, 440 L.F. concrete and bituminous curb, I traffic control devices, pavement markings and restoration of area disturbed by construction all of which is located within the City of Chanhassen, Minnesota, and constructed in accordance with the Plans and Specifications as prepared by VanDoren-Hazard-Stallings, Inc. , II 3030 Harbor Lane North, Suite 104, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55447, and as are on file with the City Manager of the City of Chanhassen, Minnesota. I Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. All Proposals shall be made on forms attached to and made a part of Contract Documents, or exact copies thereof, and shall be addressed to: CITY OF CHANHASSEN, MINNESOTA 1 and endorsed: T.A. 5 RIGHT TURN LANE AT LONE CEDAR LANE CITY PROJECT NO. 90-9 Copies of the Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the Engineer on deposit of the sum of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) , which deposit will be refunded to each unsuccessful bidder upon return of the Plans and Specifications in good condition within ten (10) days after the date set for receiving bids. Additional copies of the Plans and Specifications may be obtained from the Engineer upon payment of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) per set. Each bidder shall submit with his proposal a certified check or bidder's bond made payable to the City of Chanhassen in the amount of Five Percent (5%) of his total bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least 30 days after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids. The City of Chanhassen reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities.
