set at this time. The hearings may be held anytime between November 15, 1991,

taxpayers to call, that you fill out the enclosed form and return it to us in
the envelope provided. Minnesota Statutes 275.065 requires it be returned no
IIlater than September, 1991. We are also enclosing a proposed levy form for
you to complete and return by September", 1991.
I The expense of preparing and mailing the Truth in Taxation notices is to be
divided in thirds among the county, school and city. Each city's portion of

MOTION BY: SECONDED BY:
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE 1992 BUDGET,
AND ESTABLISHING TAX LEVIES FOR 1992
WHEREAS the State of Minnesota has mandated the Truth in Taxa-
tion process requiring cities to certify a proposed property tax
levy by September 1 for the ensuing year tax collections; and
WHEREAS the additional requirements of the Truth in Taxation
' process impose such restriction upon the city's taxing authority
through the imposition of levy limitations; and
' WHEREAS afore-said "proposed" property tax levy must not be
increased but may, in fact , be decreased in the forth-coming budget
preparation and adoption process; and
WHEREAS said state mandated Truth in Taxation additionally
requires cities to set at this time, scheduled dates for public
hearings to consider adoption of the ensuing year budget, giving
' consideration to the scheduling of said dates so as to not conflict
with similar public hearings scheduled by the county and school
district for the same purpose;
' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Chanhassen
hereby certifies a proposed property tax levy for collection in
1992 of $3,385 ,770 which includes the state imposed levy limitation
' of $2 ,553,070 and bonded debt levies of $832, 700 ; and further
BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Chanhassen hereby schedules
' the public hearing for consideration of the 1992 Budget and pro-
perty tax levy to be held on Monday, November 18, 1991, at 7 : 30
p.m. in the Council Chambers of Chanhassen City Hall , 690 Coulter
Drive, with a continuation meeting to be held, if necessary, on
' Monday, December 9, 1991, at 7 : 30 p.m. in the same location.
