C A , MINNESOTA 55317 (612) 937-1900 • FAX (612)937-5739 q I MEMORANDUM TO: Charles Folch, City Engineer FROM: Dave Hempel, Sr. Engineering Technician DATE: July 18, 1991 ' SUBJ: Approve Construction Plans and Specifications for Street and Utility Improvements Kurvers Point 2nd Addition Project No. 91-i1 ' The developer 's engineer has supplied the City with construction plans and specifications for the utility and street improvements . The plans and specifications follow in general accordance with the current edition of the City's Standard Specifications and Detail Plates. The attached specifications were not able to include the City's standard specifications due to printing I delays; however, they will be incorporated at the time of bidding the project. Therefore, it is recommended that the City Council approve the construction plans and specifications for Kurvers Point 2nd Addition prepared by Van Doren Hazard Stallings ' dated July 1, 1991 conditioned upon the following: 1. The grading plan proposes moving approximately 54,000 cubic ' yards of material of which 40,000 cubic yards is expected to be exported from the site. Therefore, the appropriate traffic control signage and dust control measures shall be implemented along Trunk Highway 101. 2. The construction access from Trunk Highway 101 at the south end of the site shall be the designated access for ' construction traffic and deliverys to the site. No construction vehicles or deliveries shall be made through the existing neighborhood (Kurvers Point, Phase I) . 3 . The storm sewer castings/grate for catch basin nos. 6 and. 7 shall be the Neenah R-4342 ditch grate, stool type or equivalent. t4 . The proposed berm between catch basin no. 7 and the existing street shall be reduced to an elevation not to exceed 920.00. • Charles Folch July 18, 1991 I Page 2 5 . The proposed watermain connection to the existing 12-inch I watermain adjacent to Trunk Highway 101 shall be made by "wet tap" to avoid interruption of water service. 6 . Wood-fiber blanket or erosion control blanket shall be used on all slopes greater than 3:1; specifically adjacent to Trunk Highway 101. I • 7 . The developer shall supply the City with a development plan designating the house type, lower floor elevation and garage floor elevation for each lot. 8 . The storm sewer plans should be modified to allow for three feet of cover over the storm sewer between catch basin manhole no. 2 and catch basin no. 4. The plans may be modified by either raising the street grade and/or increasing the pipe diameter to an 18-inch RCP and reducing the grade to 0 .9%. ktm ' Attachment: Construction Plans and Specifications c: Scott Harri, Van Doren Hazard Stallings ' Mel Kurvers .
