De~Mr. Hoffm~,
It is my understanding that your community is currently seeking a resident to fill a vacancy
on your advisory Park and Recreation Commission. This letter is in support of Mr. Jay
Karlovich for that vacancy. I have had the experience of working with him in my
community through our City Attorney's office. Mr. Karlovich, in addition to being a
practicing attorney, also is an engineer. This background and experience have been of
benefit to both myself and the City in working to resolve a number of issues, not only with
private citizens, but with various contractors.
I have found him to be very capable and thorough in dealing with issues that are at times
both legally difficult and politically sensitive. I would encourage you to consider both his
personal and professional skills when making your selection.
Please feel free to contact me directly at (651) 450-2587, should you desire to discuss this
letter of support in more detail.
Sincerely,
Mark C. Mayer, Director

the betterment of society by balancing development with preservation, active recreation
with natural resources, and his willingness to involve himself with these difficult issues in
a positive manner.
