The City has cooperated in the past with Pillsbury to permit parking to accommodate their trucking needs. Over the past summer Pillsbury expanded their truck loading facility and staging areas to accommodate the trucks waiting for pick up and drop off. City staff received numerous complaints this summer on the safety issues with sight lines with the trucks being parked along Audubon Road. Attached is a letter from Pillsbury supporting the no parking zone along Audubon Road. It is therefore recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution establishing no parking zones along both sides of Audubon Road from McGlynn Drive to 600 feet south of Park Road. Attachments: 1. Minnesota, 55317 Dear Mr. Hemp=l, The purpose of this letter is to verify Pfilsbury's support for eliminating parking along the west shoulder of Audubon Road. The recent renovation of our parking facilities has generated additional on-site truck parking that will accommodate our truck volume. Pillsbury's goal is m prevent situations where the demand for parking exceeds oM capacity. We are consistently worl~ing with our cartier base to insure Pillsbm'y policies are being followed; However~ the~e may be uuanticipated, isolated events that challenge our parking capacity. Should a situation arise, we will work directly x~Ath the City of Chanhassen to reach a compromise. We would like to extend our thanks to the Chanhassen City Council and the City of Chanhasse'n for the patience you provided during our parking lot renovation. We are proud to be a business partner ia your community.
