Memo from Bob Zydowsky re: Spring Weight Restriction Enforcement dated August 5, 1999. Newspaper article regarding a Senior Housing Complex in Eden Prairie Municipal Offices 7701 County Road 110 West Minnetrista, MN 55364-9552 16 August 1999 City of Chanhassen 690 City Center Drive Chanhassen,. MN 55317 Attn: Todd Gerhardt 1999 Dear Todd, This spring, the City of Minnetrista needed temporary planning assistance after our City Planner resigned to take a position with another City. We contacted the City of Chanhassen to discuss options for possibly helping us through this time and as a result, met with you and Kate Aanenson to further explore what could be done. What we came up with was a part-time schedule whereby Chanhassen's Planning Department would take shifts during the week, including evening meetings, for a couple months. On behalf of the City of Minnetrista, I want to thank you and your staff for the help that was provided during this time. Your Planning staff did an excellent job. They were very professional, knowledgeable and courteous in providing the services we needed. This type of cooperation and commitment to quality public service is a wonderful example of how things can work· Please inform the appropriate people in your organization how appreciative the City of Minnetrista is for the assistance your staff provided during this time. Again, thank you. /T~ Cruikshank · Cqty Administrator FSADMIN~TIM%ETTERS\CHANHASSEN,DOC .J OFFICE 612-446-1660 = FAX 612-446-1311 Aug 3 Aug 4 Aug 5 Aug 6 Aug 6 Aug 6 Aug 6 Aug 7 Aug 7 Aug 8 Aug 8 Aug 8 Aug 8 Aug 8 10:52 AM 6:04 PM 7:21 PM 2:48 AM 9:25 AM 1:18 PM 2:23 PM 11:24 AM 8:39 PM 11:02 AM 12:00 PM 12:35 PM 4:42 PM 5:52 PM CITY OF CHANHASSEN FIRE/RESCUE WEEK OF AUGUST 2 -AUGUST 8, 1999 Lone Cedar Lane Lake Ann Park Mohawk Drive West 79th Street Baneberry Way West Lukewood Drive West 78th Street Pleasant View Road Suffolk Drive Pioneer Trail & Highway 101 White Dove Drive Highway 5 & Market Blvd Chan View Arboretum Drive Medical - unknown problem Missing swimmers- unfounded, cancelled enroute Medical - possible stroke Electrical fire Natural gas leak Oven fire Fire alarm - false alarm, no fire Fire alarm - false alarm, cancelled enroute Medical - possible heart attack Car accident - cancelled enroute, no injuries Assist Sheriffs office Car accident with injuries Medical - person fell Medical - unknown problem Aug 9 Aug 9 Aug 10 Aug 10 Aug 11 Aug 11 Aug 11 Aug 11 Aug 11 Aug 12 Aug 12 Aug 13 Aug 14 Aug 14 Aug 15 10:00 AM 11:22 AM 5:40 PM 8:37 PM 1:56 PM 2:14 PM 4:00 PM 7:05 PM 7:38 PM 8:19 AM 6:30 PM 11:12 PM 10:07 Am 5:46 PM 2:22 PM CHANHASSEN FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE/RESCUE WEEK OF AUGUST 9, AUGUST 15, 1999 Eden Prairie West 78th Street Chaparral Lane Chanhassen Road Lake Susan Hills Drive Lake Ann Park West 78th Street Summit Circle Lakeview Road East Lotus Trail Fawn Hill Road Highway 169 & Highway 212 Kiowa Avenue Eden Prairie Highway 101 & Twilight Trail Mutual Aid - House fire Medical - head injury Medical - trouble breathing Medical - person choking Medical - broken leg Missing swimmer - cancelled enroute, unfounded Medical - irregular heart beat Medical - broken ankle Gas line break Natural gas line break Fire alarm - false alarm, no fire Downed aircraft - unfounded, cancelled enroute Medical - person not breathing Mutual Aid - stand by, house fire Car accident with injuries CITYOF CHANHASSEN 69o City Center Orive, PO Box 147 Chanhassen, Minnesota 55317 Phone 612.93Z 1900 General Fax 612.93Z5739 Engineering Fax 612.93Z9152 &blic Safety Fax 612934.2524 Web www. ci. thanhassen, mn. us MEMORANDUM TO: Charles Folch, Public Works Director Anita Benson, City Engineer FROM: Bob Zydowsky, Chief Law Enforcement Officer DATE: August 5, 1999 SUB J: Spring Weight Restriction Enforcement Well, the numbers are in!! I looked up all of the citations that were issued for various violations during the spring weight restriction enforcement program with Carver County. Following are some of the statistics: Total Number of Shifts: Approximately 19 Total Contacts: 63 Total Citations: Total Fine Money Issued to Chanhassen: $3890.00 Contract Amount with CCSO: $4000.00 As you can see, ~ve came very close to the contract amount of $4000.00. I realize, the program is not set-up to be a money maker for the city, but to save our roads. There are two cases coming before the judge on August 9, 1999 that are being contested. As soon as I find out about those dispositions, I will let you know. Both those are for larger fines, and would probably put the fine revenue over the $4000.00 mark. Contrary to rumor, there were only two tickets dismissed and continued for dismissal. I am not sure the reason, other than they were contested. I apologize for the delay with this report, but it took some time to learn our Carver County justice system. If you need other information, please feel free to aSk for it. I have all the original citations and log sheets that I will file for reference. 0B/09/1999 08:5B 6124963204 J~NSEN COMPANIES DATE TO FROM :Linda Jansen 240 Eastwood CT.
