Dear Bob:
I am writing you to notify you and the other council members that I do not
wish to have my name placed in consideration for re-appointment as the
citizen representative to the Southwest Metro Transit Commission.
I have been honored to represent the city over the past several years; and
in particular as the Commission Chair for the last two years. It has truly
been satisfying to see the Commission evolve from a small entity to the
well-respected transit agency it has become. Although not without
encountering some difficulties over the years, this agency is now poised to
become a leader in the Twin Cities metro area. With the opening of the
new Transit Hub - buses are to begin operating out of there shortly after
the first of the year - SMTC takes its place as a full-fledged service
provider. I am proud to have been a small part of its history!
I would be more than glad to speak with Dave Pokorny as to potential
candidates for appointment should he wish to call me.
Sincerely ....
Maggie Brown
