1999 Sealcoat Project No. 99-2
The 1999 Sealcoat Project consists of chip sealing various streets and a number of
city parking lots as shown on the attached location maps. Pavement markings and
parking stall striping are also included as part of the contract. The project bid
opening is scheduled for May 17, 1999 with a completion date deadline of July 23,
1999.
The estimated cost for the city streets portion of the project is $205,000. City
parking lots are estimated to be approximately $20,000 bringing the total project
cost to approximately $225,000. With gas and oil prices being lower than normal,
I anticipate actual bids may reflect this trend in lower sealcoat prices.
Approval of the plans and specifications for the 1999 Sealcoat Project No. 99-2
and authorization of advertising for bids is recommended.
Manager's Comments
Most of the $20,000 for the downtown parking lots will be assessed back to the
benefiting property owners as agreed to in the Downtown Parking Lot
Maintenance Agreement.
