This information must be submitted to the County Auditor. Attached please find a list of people who have agreed to serve. Several judges are getting back to us as to their availability, and an updated list may be presented on Monday evening. The Council must also establish the rates of pay for the judges. Staff recommends that the following hourly rates be established: Judges Assistant Head Judges Head Judges $7.00 per hour $8.00 per hour $9.00 per hour Additionally, Joanne Meuwissen is assisting me with some of the organizational responsibilities for the election and it is recommended that her rate of pay be $11/hour. These are the same hourly rates that we have paid since 1996. Approval of Joint Powers Agreement with Carver County for Absentee Ballot Services: Attached is a Joint Powers Agreement with Carver County that authorizes the county to serve as the absentee ballot precinct for the entire county. This practice has been in place for many years and it works very well. There is no cost to the city for this service. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the City Council approve the list of election judges for the Primary and General Elections as attached as well as the Joint Powers Agreement with Carver County for absentee ballot services.
