NOVEMBER 3, 1982
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING TO CANVASS THE CITY ELECTION OF
NOVEMBER 2, 1982
Mayor Hamilton called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. on November 3,
1982 with the following members present: Mayor Hamilton,
Councilmembers Neveaux, Geving, Horn, & Swenson. Don Ashworth, City
Manager; Carol Watson, Councilwoman-elect; and City Attorneys
Russell Larson and Craig Mertz were also present.
RESOLUTION #82-66( Councilman Geving moved the adoption of the
following resolution:
WHEREAS, the Bienneial City Election was duly held on
Tuesday, November 2, 1982, for the election of Mayor for a term
ending on the first business day of January, 1985 and for two
councilpersons for terms ending on the first business day of
January, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Chanhassen has this date duly
met as the City Canvassing Board to declare the results of the
election returns made by the Elections Judges as true and
correct. Said results are listed on the attached Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the City Council sitting
as the City Canvassing Board hereby declares the results of the
Bicennial City election for 1982 as follows:
1. For the position of Mayor - Tom Hamilton
2. For the position of Councilwoman - Pat Swenson
3. For the position of Councilwoman - Carol Watson
Resolution seconded by Councilman Horn. The following voted in favor:
Mayor Hamilton, Councilmembers Neveaux, Geving, Horn and Swenson. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilmember Swenson and seconded by
Councilmember Neveaux to adjourn the meeting. The following
voted in favor: Mayor Hamilton, Councilmembers Neveaux, Geving,
Swenson and Horn. No negative votes. Motion carried.
