SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING - JANUARY 26, 1981
A special meeting of the Chanhassen City Council was called to order
by Mayor Thomas Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. on January 26, 1981. The
following members were present: Mayor Hamilton, Councilmen Swenson,
Neveaux, Geving and Horn.
AWARD OF BIDS, TELEPHONE EQUIPMENT, PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING: A motion
was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by Councilman Geving to
accept the low bid from Telamerica, Inc. as presented in the City
Manager's report of January 24, 1981, as amended. Such bid to be
in the total amount of $2,861 and such bid to include 2nd year ~/
costs of approximately $812 per year. In addition, the system is to
include a minimum of 2 lines, 3 telephones, intercom, outside
speaker and bell and expandable to 9 lines and 19 telephones as
explained in their bid. The following voted in favor: Councilmen
Swenson, Neveaux, Geving and Horn. Mayor Hamilton voted no.
Motion carried.
DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, CONSIDER DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS,
KRAUS ANDERSON/BLOOMBERG COMPANIES: The City Council continued the
review of the specific contractual documents which are proposed to
be entered into between the City, Housing and Redevelopment Authority,
and two developers (Kraus Anderson and Bloomberg Companies) in regards
to redevelopment efforts for the downtown area.
A motion was made by Councilman Swenson and seconded by Councilman
Neveaux to set February 9, 1981, as the next special meeting date to
review these documents again. The following voted in favor: Mayor
Hamilton, Councilmen Swenson, Neveaux, Geving and Horn. No negative
votes. Motion carried.
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF PLACING OLD ST. HUBERT'S CHURCH ON THE
HISTORICAL REGISTER: Mary Klingelhutz was present asking the City
Council support of a resolution placing the old St. Hubert's Church
on the historical register.
RESOLUTION 81-01: A motion was made by Councilman Geving and seconded
by Councilman Swenson to approve resolution 81-01 in support of
placing old St. Hubert's Church on the historical register. The
following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Hamilton, Councilmen Swenson,
Neveaux, Geving and Horn. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Geving and seconded by Councilman
Neveaux to adjourn the meeting. The following voted in favor:
Mayor Hamilton, Councilmen Swenson, Neveaux, Geving and Horn. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
