SPECIAL CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL MEETING APRIL 24,. 1978
Mayor Hobbs called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the following
members present: Councilmen Pearson, Neveaux, Waritz, and Geving.
PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PETITION, ECKLUND AND SWEDLUND:
RESOLUTION #78-19A: Councilman Neveaux moved the adoption of a
resolution authorizing the City Engineer to prepare a feasibility study,
to be paid for entirely by the applicant, for improvements as petitioned
for. Resolution seconded by Councilman Pearson. The following voted in
favor: Mayor Hobbs, Councilmen Pearson, Neveaux, Waritz, and Geving.
No negative votes. Motion carried.
The Engineer is to consider potential phasing of improvements as a
part of Planning Commission reconsideration of the plat and given their
comments in regards to phasing. No commitment was made by the Council
as to whether public installation of all or a portion of the public
improvements, as requested, would be made until comments were received
from the Planning Commission, alternate financing guarantees researched
by staff and costs of the feasibility study known.
WESTERN MOTIF CONCEPT - CBD:

General discussion was held between
western motif concept in the downtown

plan for the downtown area. No further
CONSENT AGENDA: Mayor Hobbs asked if any council member wished to discuss
any item on the consent agenda. As no gitizen cOmments had been received,
Councilman Geving moved to accept the consent agenda as
recommended by the City Manager. (Sunmary shown in parenthesis) .
a. Change Order - City Sign (Approve change of color).
b. Diseased Tree Ordinance - Authbrize Special Assessment Procedure.
c. Approve plans and specifications for CBD parking lot improvement
project and authorize attorney to obtain easements -
Resolution #78-19B.
d. Deferred Connection Requirement, C. A. MacLeod, Carver Beach
(Senior Citizen deferment).
e. Set Special Meeting Dates:
1. May 22, 1978, Work Session - County Assessor.
2. June 8, 1978, Board of Review and Equalization Meeting.
f. Authorize public improvement petition, MTS, Signalization, and Road
and Utility Improvements, Dakota and Highway 5. Resolution
#78-19C.
g. Bills dated April 17, 1978.
Motion seconded by Councilman Waritz. The following voted in favor:
Mayor Hobbs, Councilmen Pearson, Neveaux, Waritz, and Geving. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
Councilman Pearson moved to adjourn. Motion seconded by Councilman
Neveaux. The following voted in favor: Mayor Hobbs, Councilmen Pearson,
Neveaux, Waritz, and Geving. No negative votes. Meeting adjourned.
