Bill Brezinsky
Russell Larson
Bill Brezinsky explained the proposed project. The existing road is
within the right-of-way that Mr. Bang conveyed in 1973. The existing
road is 18-22 feet wide. The Engineer does not feel a 28 foot wide road
would be necessary because it will ultimately serve only ten homes. A
20 foot wide road would be adequate to serve the area. The cul-de-sac
is 100 foot square and is more than adequate. The lateral unit cost
is $1,439.90 to serve the eight existing homes and two additional units.
In additional to the lateral unit cost is the trunk availability cost
of $486.40 for a total unit cost of $1,926.40. The Engineer recommended
the City accept the road right-of-way as tendered by Mr. Bang in 1973.
By not extending the water line to the Bixler, Bang, and McCullough
properties on the west, the estimated unit cost would be $1,401.10 plus
the trunk availability charge. The Bangs, Bixlers, and McCulloughs are
not interested in the water extension at this time.
Councilman Pearson moved to close the public hearing. Motion seconded
by Councilman Neveaux. The following voted in favor: Mayor Hobbs,
Councilmen Pearson, Neveaux, Geving, and Waritz. No negative votes.
Hearing closed at 8:50 p.m.
