City of Chanhassen Organizational Chart
Consistent with the city code, the city œuncilis to adopt by resolution a City of
Chanhassen organizational chart. As.we have made some alterations in our
organization in the past year, I present to you a draft organizational chart for
your consideration and anticipated approval. The changes in this chart are
minor and I do not expect that this should cause much consternation or debate
pciorto ~proval.
You will notice that the Carver County Command Sergeant (at this point Sgt.
David Potts) is in a separate bubble reporting directly to the City Manager,
essentially replacing the Public SafetyDepartment. The CSO and Public Safety
Education Coordinator have been placed under the direction of the Assistant
CityManager. Finally, the Fire Mat'ShalB11d Fire Inspector, as they provide
.primariJycinspectiònand educatiolUÙ-expertise, have been placed under the
directionófttufB'I:iÌtdi..g Offici~hH1d secondarily under the direction of the
Q)mmunityDcydopment Director. .0'
Notwithstanding, it can be rightly assumed that both the Fire Marshal and Fire
Inspector, CSO, and Public Safety Education Coordinator, being largely
administrative positions, will also work·mconjunction with myself and
necessary department heads depending-_.the project before them at the time.
If you have any questions about wbatiscpmposed in this organizational chart,
please contact me.
