REGULAR CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 20,1976
Mayor Klingelhutz called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with the
following members present: Councilmen Neveaux and Waritz. Councilmen
Hobbs and Kurvers were ahsent. The meeting was opened with the Pledge
to the Flag. Councilmen-elect Dale Geving and Dick Pearson were present.
A motion was made by Councilman Waritz and seconded by Councilman
Neveaux to delay all Council agenda items except items 4, 6, 8, 11a
and lId, until a special meeting December 27, 1976, or the first meeting
in 1977. The following voted in favor: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen
Neveaux and Waritz. No negative votes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA: A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and
seconded by Councilman Waritz to approve the agenda as amended. The
following voted in favor: Mayor K1ingelhltz, Councilmen Neveaux and
Waritz. No negative votes. Motion carried.
EAST LOTUS LAKE - EASEMENT ACQUISITION: The Danielsons and Brozovichs
were present. Staff continues to believe that the total cost element
for this alignment will be $3400 an additional $2200 cost for the
force main and lift station not including the operating costs for the
lift station. Staff continues to recommend that the Council approve
the house pump alternate for the thre~ properties.
RESOLUTION #76-97: Councilman Waritz moved the adoption of a resolution
to go with the original route of gravity flow· in view of the fact that
Brozovich, Danielson; and Da'nie1son on behalf of 0fstie did temper
their-original request considerably. Resolution seconded by Mayor
Klingelhutz, The following voted in favor: Mayor Klinge1hutz and
Councilman Waritz. Councilman Neveaux voted no. Motion carried.
BILLS: A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by
Councilman Waritz to approve the November bills as presented. The
following voted in favor: Mayor K1inge1hutz, Councilmen Neveaux and
Waritz. No negative votes. Motion carried.
W.A.F.T.A. :
RESOLUTION #76-98: Councilman Neveaux moved the adoption of a resolution
supporting the Western Area Fire Training Academy's funding request.
Resolution seconded by Councilman Waritz. The following voted in favor:
Mayor Klinge1hutz, Councilmen Neveaux and Waritz. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
RILEY PURGATORY CREEK WATERSHED MEETING: A meeting will be held
January 5 to discuss participation. in,-loéaL municipal proj ects.
Chanhassen has asked for general participation in erosion control
project for Lot 12 Auditor's Subdivision No.2 and Western Hills Park.
Mayor Klingelhutz appointed Mayor-elect Hobbs, Councilman-elect
Geving and Councilman Waritz to attend the meeting on January 5.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM: To consider funding for
next year the Council will have to hold two public hearings and have
pre-application submitted by February 15, 1977.

A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by Councilman
Waritz to set the dates for the public hearings for January 10, 1977, I
and January 17, 1977, at 7:30 p.m. to allow the citizens of
Chanhassen to present their views on what should be asked for
in a block grant for the City of Chanhassen. The following voted
in favor: Mayor Klingelhutz, Councilmen Neveaux and Waritz. No
negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neveaux and seconded by Councilman
Waritz to adjourn. The following voted in favor: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Neveaux and Waritz. No negative votes. Meeting
adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
