SPECIAL CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 4, 1975
The Budget Meeting was called to order by Mayor Klingelhutz at 8:15
a.m. with the following members present: Councilmen Hobbs, Shulstad,
and Kurvers. Councilman Neveaux was absent.
The following budget items were discussed and changes proposed.
101-410, Fire Marshal: The Council felt that a quarterly or monthly
report should be submitted to the Council before the Fire
Marshal is paid.
The Council questioned the $400 expense for schools.
101-405, Legal
Category #300 be reduced to $12,000.
101-402, Administrati~n
Category #120 be reduced to $2,000
101-413, Building Maintenance
Category #510 delete $500.
Category #610 delete $1,500.
209-415, Civil Defense: Before the Civil Defense Director is paid
the Council would like a quarterly or monthly report.
The Council questioned the $3,000 expense for sirens.
101-421, Engineering
Category #410 delete $13~740.
101-416, Animal Control: The Council would like residents of
Chanhassen to know that this cost is paid through the general
tax levy. They discussed raising the dog license fee.
101-412, Fire
Category #100 be changed to $9,400.
Category #150 be raised to $1,000.
Category #220 be changed to $2,150.
Category #370 be reduced by $500.
101-422, Public Works
Category #530 delete $14,000.
The Administrator was asked to report on how the City Front
End Loader was purchased.
101-425, City Garage
Category #230 reduce by $400.
The Council requested information on employees fringe
benefits.
101-426,Street Lighting
Category #360 increase $733.
101-436, Weed Eradication
Category #210 reduce $50.
Category #211 delete $50.
Category 440 increase $50.
101-442, Health Regulation
No changes were made.

202, Non-Departmental, Employee Hospitalization: The Administrator
was instructed to review the City Employee Policy.
603, Shade Tree Conservation: The Administrator will find out how
much money is left from previous years.
