SPECIAL CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL MEETING NOVEMBER 5, 1975
Mayor Klingelhutz called the special meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
with the following members present: Councilmen Hobbs, Neveaux,
Shulstad, and Kurvers.
PROPOSED BUDGET: The Council went over the proposed budget with
the Treasurer.
SIGN MORATORIUM: A letter dated October 9, 1975, was received from
the Sign Study Committee recommending that the Council place an
interim moratorium on all new sign construction and for all sign
permit applications and on the repair or replacement of existing
signs reconstructed after October 1, 1975, and through a period
ending March 31, 1976. That the Council postpone all action on
existing, non-conforming or illegal signs until such time as this
committee can provide more detailed recommendations for dealing
with these items. That the City Council authorize a budget of
$5,000 for the next fiscal year for a) payment of anticipated
professional services required for the preparation of a Comprehensive
Notational Graphics Program for the City, and b) design and
construction of a portion of the notational graphics system.
A motion was made by Councilman Shulstad and seconded by Councilman
Hobbs to place an interim moratorium on all new sign construction
and for all sign permit applications and on the repair or replacement
of existing signs reconstructed after October 1, 1975, until March
31, 1976. The following voted in favor: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Hobbs, Shulstad, Neveaux, and Kurvers. No negative
votes. Motion carried.

Kurvers to adjourn. The following voted in favor: Mayor Klingelhutz,
Councilmen Hobbs, Neveaux, Shulstad, and Kurvers. No negative votes.
Meeting adjourned at 12:30 a.m.
