CONTINUATION OF BOARDÜF-REVIEW~ June 22i- 197Q -June 29,1970

BOARD OF REVIEW: The Board of Review opened at 7:30 p.m.
A number of residents were present to see what valuation had
been placed upon their property.
WILLIAM HUSKINS was present, s:hating that he felt that the
valuation that-has been placed on his home is at a higher
ratio than a number of other homes in the same subdivision.
DICK SMITH, also a resident of the same subdivision felt
thatthhe same case pertained to the valuation on his home.
EINAR SWEDBERG, a resident of Chanhassen Estates, felt that
the valuation on his home was too high.
A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by
Councilman Neils to continue the Board of Review until such time
as more information on the above listed property can be gathered.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Pearson. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - June 29, 1970

The Special Chanhassen Village Council meeting was held on
June 29, 1970, at 8: 00 p.m., in the Chanhassen Village Hall.
The meeting was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The
following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Pearson.
COUNCIL MINUT~S: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz
and seconded by Councilman Pearson to approve the Council
minutes of June 15, 1970, and June 16, 1970. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Couilitèr, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Klingelhutz and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
Councilman Neils abstained from voting because she was not a
member of the Council at that time.
A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by
Councilman Pearson to approve the Council minutes of June 22, 1970.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Pearson. No negative votes.
Motion carried.

PARK AND RECREATION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman
Pearson and seconded by Councilman Klingelhutz that the June 16, 19ijQ,
Park and Recreation Commission minutes be noted and read. The
following voted in favor thereof: Måyor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Pearson. No negative votes.
Motion carried.

PLANNING COMM~SSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman
Pearson and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that the
June 22, 1970, and June 23, 1970, Planning Commission minutes
be noted and read. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and
Pearson. No nªgative votes. Motion carried.

INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION MINUTES: A mot~IDn was made by Councilman
Bennyhoff and seconded-by Councilman Neils that the June 24, 1970,
Industrial Commission minutes be nmted and reâd. The following
voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Klingelhutz, Neils and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
MEL PITTEL: Mr. Pittel was present to ask that the Council pay
In fuæl, the boarding costs for the impounding of his two black
Laboradors.
A motion was made by Coucilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman
Klingelhutz that the Council take no action on this request,
as it has been scheduled for a jury trial in the fall court term.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Pearson. No negative votes.
Motion carried.
VERN ZETAH: A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded I
by Councilman Klingelhutz to approve the variance request on
Ordinance #33, under Section 13.02, to allow the filing and
recording of the following land described by metes and bounds.
That part of the Southwest ~ of the Southeast ~ of Section 12,
Township 116, Range 23, Carver County, Minnesota, described
as follows: Beginning at a point of the intersection of the
North line of St. Aloys Street and the West line of St.
Francis Street extended in the Village of Chanhassen according
to the plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the
Register of Deeds for said County; running thence West along
the North line of St. Aloys Street 225 feet¡ running thence
North parallel with the West line of St. Francis Street
extended 236 feet thence Southeasterly 226.45 feet more or
less to a point on the Northerly extension of the West line
of St. Francis Street extended, a distance of 210 feet North
from the point of beginning, thence South along said extended
line to the point of beginning.
The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen
Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Ne~ls and Pearson, No negative votes.
Motion carried.

Councilman Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Pearson voted yes.
Mayor Coulter voted no. Motion carried.
COUNCIL COMMITTEE: A motion was made by Mayor Coulter and
seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that Anne Neils be placed on
the following Council Committees:
Dogs
Health
Conservation
Administration
Park and Recreation
Planning
Metropfulitan League
Also the Board of Adjustments and Appeals. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff,
Klingelhutz, Neils and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion
carried.
ADMINISTRATION: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and
seconded by Councilman Neils to purchase a Bell & Howell,
E221X, CoIDbomatic at $165.00 cash and eleven payments of
$44.34 and the last payment of $44.39. The following voted in
favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,
Neils and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
PROJECT 70-3 ~ #1 WELL: The Village Engineer gave a report dated
June 29, 1970, on this project.
A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman
Klingelhutz to authorize the Village EnglbJÌ1eer to proceed with
the plans and specifications for this project~ This is to be
presented at the July 13, 1970, meeting. The following voted
in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,
Neils and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
PROJECT 70-2. - .SUNRISE HILLS~ SEWER AND WATER EXTENSION: The
Village Engineer gave a preiiminary report on the status of this
project.
A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by
Councilman Pearson to authorize the Village Engineer to proceed
with plans and specifications. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils
and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.

PROJECT - NORTH SEWER SERVICE AREA: The Village Engineer
gave a report on thispreliminary~raft and explained the
different areas that would be serviced and the general
location of the proposed trunk lines and the rough estimated
cost.
A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by
Councilman Bennyhoff to defer any further action on this project
until the final report is given. The following voted in favor
thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,
Neils and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
NONINTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSES: A motion was made by
Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff
to grant a nonintoxicating malt liquor license to the Chanhassen
Jaycees and the Chanhassen Fire Department for July 11, 12 and
13, 1970. Fee exempt. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bannyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and
Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman
Bennyhoff to adjourn. The following voted in favor thereof:
Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and
Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried.
