1970 07 27 ~ I I I ~ CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - July 27, 1970 The special Chanhassen Village Council meeting was held on July 27, 1970, at 7:00 p.m., in the Chanhassen Village Hall. It was decided to dispense with all formalities. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Neils and Pearson. Councilmen Bennyhoff and Klingelhutz were absent. PROJECTS 70-2 and 70-3: The following bids for Projects 70-2 and 70-3 were opened at 2:00 p.m., July 27,1970, by the Village Administrator and the Village Engineer: Widmer Bros. Volk Trucking and Excavating Bianconi Construction Co. Don Parrott Excavating Co. Don Anderson Co. Long Lake Construction, Inc. $ 8,995.00 9,209.50 9,401.68 9,833.43 11,198.00 11,768.14 A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Neils to accept the low bid from Widmer Bros. and authorize the Mayor and the Clerk to sign the contract. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Neils and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Neils that Project 70-2 - Section A and B of the bid be paid out of funds from the 67-4 Sunrise Hills Project and that Project 70-3 - Section C of the bid be paid from the Utility Operating Fund. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Neils and Pearson. No negative votes. Motion carried. UTILITY DEPARTMENT: The cleaning of the sewer lines is approximately one half completed. FIRE DEPARTMENT: The Fire Department has not met with the Council Gommittee regarding the tanker, at this time. POLICE DEPARTMENT: The Police Department was instructed to pick up any mini-bike being used by any person without a drivers license or a bike without a license and taken to the Sheriff's Office. The bike only to be released to the parent or gaardian. The Village Administrator is to write to the County Commissioners and request that 'ho parking" signs be placed on County Road 17 in both directions from 62nd north to the Hennepin County line and south at least 500 feet. He is also to request that additional 50 mile per hour signs be placed on County Road 17. MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT: General discussion on the weed problem. Also a discussion on the culvert problem located between Elroy Williams and Dorothy Bongard. The Administrator was instructed to write a letter to Dorotþy Bongard with instructions that this culvert be opened within 10 days or the Village will be forced to do so and bill the cost to Dorothy Bongard. No action was taken, as the building permit did comply with the Village Ordinance. MAINTENANCE: A motion was made by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Neils to authorize the Village Attorney to check into the vacating of roads in Carver Beach. Action which was taken in October, 1944. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Neils and Pearson. No negative vot~s~_ !:10f.ion carried. ORDINANCE #29: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Pearson to table any action until the Council Committee can present a final report.
