I I II ~ CHANHASSEN VILLAGE COUNCIL MINUTES - May 24, 1971 I There was a special Chanhassen Village Council Meeting in the Chanhassen Village Hall on May 24, 1971, at 8:00 p.m. The meeting was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. The follQwing members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. COUNCIL MINUTES: Acmotion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Neils that the Council Minutes0óf~May 17, 1971, be approved. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES: A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that the Park and Recreation Commission Minutes of May 18, 1971, be noted and read. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. SOLID WASTE: There was geaeral discussion on the proposed Solid Waste Ordinance. Discussion to be continued on June 7, 1971. SEWER AND WATER RATES: Mayor Coulter explained the proposed changes and explained the reasons for the proposed changes. Final decision to be made on June 7, 1971, at 9:00 p.m. CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT (JOHN DEVLIN): A'motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff the seconded by Councilman Neils to approve the Conditional Use Permit for John Devlin, as submitted by the Village Attorney. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that the Administrator inform the residents abutting West 76th Street from Iroquois to Great Plains Blvd. and Great Plains Blvd. from Chan View to the north to termination and Frontier Trail from West 18th Street to Highland Drive, that the Council is considering upgrading these streets to Village standards. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. 4TH STREET: There was general discussion and comments from the Maintenance Superintendent on 4th Street. ,--~ FEASIBILITY STUDY - PROJECT 71-4: A motmon was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Wolf to set the~for the Public Hearing for the 21st of June, 1971, at 7:30 p.m., for the proposed project 71-4. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. If the Administrator is able to obtain 100% of the landowners approval to waive the Public Hearing, the above will be unnecessary. ~ VILLAGE OF CHANHASSEN COUNCIL MINUTES - May 24, 1971 -2- ROBERT REICHERT: Mr. Reichert explained to the Council his 1 problems with Northern States Power and the proposed Registered Land Survey. A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Council- man Klingelhutz that the Administrator contact Northern States Power to see what can be done about moving the electr~cal poles. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. PARK AND RECREATION: A motion was made by Councilman Bennyhoff and seconded by Councilman Wolf to authorize the Park and Recreation Commission to spend up to $125.00 for grading behind the Chanhassen Elementary School for a ballfield. Also the Recreation Director be authorized to charge, to the Village, up to $200.00 for summer recreation equipment and be given a $100.00 petty cash fund for expendible supplies. Also a check in the amount of $5.00 to the Chaska Future Farmers of American to reimburse them for expenses incurred in planting trees at the Lake Ann. Park site. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. CENSUS BILL: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and I seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff that the Administrator send a letter to Senator Metcalf and Representative Jopp commending them on the passage of our Census Bill. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz,Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. NORTHERN STATES POWER: A motion was made by Councilman Klingelhutz and seconded by Mayor Coulter to adopt Resolution #524711. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf. No negative votes. Motion carried. A motion was made by Councilman Neils and seconded by Councilman Bennyhoff to adjourn. The following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Bennyhoff, Klingelhutz, Neils and Wolf.
